A while ago someone posted a formula for loosely guestimating the cleared boards when working out resets. Does anyone remember what the formula was? It took the average picks for a clear and then divided it by games played.

I'm in legendary++ and my first reset was at 990 games. Being my first I thought that would be around the mark for my next, but I am up to 1134 games now and no reset. Just curious as to how close I may or may not be. Thanks in advance.

It's not really that difficult. The draft board has 25 cards, and assuming an equal chance for every card to be a reset card, stretched out to infinity, the average clear card will be picked 12.5th, so 12th or 13th.

So, a quick and dirty formula would simply be games played / 12.

Some people here are advanced with statistics; is 990 games a large enough sample size to predict board clears on a 1/25 chance per board? I somewhat doubt it.

Maybe because he already has an RC card from that exact year, so CD went with the next best player.

Divide by 7 to get an approximate number of boards cleared, not 12. You get two picks per win so 7 allows for 14 picks discounted due to not winning 100% but more like 95%

If you aren't winning 90%+ of your games though any formula, like the above, is just a random stab in the dark.

I think the point still stands, though. a 990 game sample is also probably still a stab in the dark. Any statistics gurus can figure this out?
