I remember that it was said rival cards are better than legendary cards, not legendary pro, but since this event awards rival clash pro to #1, does that mean they are better than legendary pro?

The Rivals Clash Pro card is absolutely better than a Legendary Pro.

Very hard for me to determine time played because I have spent the same amount of time in these forums trying to help others. I can say that I have won 1700 games so far.

How about the rounding issue? Getting beat by the same card by 1-3 points is frustrating when i maxed them "correctly".

Twista, congrats on the rival pro Duncan. I expect your line up in the future after many more rival events to be in the 20,000 range stats per category haha

EyeGotSoul - Total respect for your position. It's a tough dilemma for us building games as to how to navigate the free-to-play game world and still make it a viable business. I will say though, you're the perfect example of how free players are 100% viable in this event. As you stated yourself, you have spent $0 on Hot Streaks and you're #2 in the event. Clearly, free players are competitive.

My only real complaint is that a person like me who has spent at least 80 hours playing quick games alone can still be non-competitive in seasons because I don't have anything better than a rare pro. For perspective, think about what you can accomplish playing 80 hours in a different game. And think about how much less repetitive it will be playing that game.

No matter how much I would like to grind 6 hours a day to get into that legendary tier, I just can't help being frustrated by just how much I've played this game without a card better than Ricky Rubio or Doc Rivers. Obviously I'm making a conscious choice currently not to spend my 6-8 hours of available gaming time each day grinding quick games; but that choice is primarily based on my past experiences of actually spending that much time on this game with very little reward. Will I feel satisfied spending 6 hours a day for a week to get a legendary? No, I will just be angry that I've already spent so much time on this game and the only way to get a reward is to mindlessly smash my finger against my IPad for a week straight (other than paying an INSANE amount of money on a single epic pack; insane in the sense that it's the price of hundreds of FULL FEATURED GAMES).

While the game is addicting, that doesn't mean it's fun.

We are still working on the bug. It's deep in the game and tough to find.

Thanks for replying to my b!tching, NWGD lol. As I had mentioned to Twista, I wish I had some sure-fire suggestions as far as finding a balance between the two positions instead of just complaining. I'm glad you guys are and have been trying to find solutions for this dilemma. Maybe focusing on proper match-making for games/seasons/etc should be the most prioritized and a place to start? Also, not trying to split hairs here, but regardless of how far my effort in free play will take me(or anyone else for that matter), the wallet will always have a staggering advantage for the #1 spot.

I played about 14-15 hours, won 1000 games and i am at 47 if that helps you

Very hard for me to determine time played because I have spent the same amount of time in these forums trying to help others. I can say that I have won 1700 games so far.

I always estimate one quick game as 30 seconds so 1700 games would be 14 hours with that estimate.

Your problem isn't free vs. pay, it really is around our Season Matchmaking. The design is intended to drive players to Seasons, Rivals, or Card Packs to improve their deck from Rare Pros. It worked for awhile in Seasons, but as more players got better decks the matchmaking started getting players in Seasons with some "trucks" that ran over everyone. We are actively working on a new matchmaking system to make it more competitive again. Once we have that you should not feel stuck at the Rare Pro level.

That's what I mean. This is a chance, but it looks like I will still have to grind 3-4 hours a day just to guarantee an epic pro. And it just all makes me upset. If I'm going to spend 3-4 hours a day playing a game, it's not going to be grinding out quick games. It's going to be playing something that is actually fun. The only fun thing about this game a good playoff series in season, and getting new cards. I haven't gotten a useful new card in a month. And I don't really have the desire to spend 4 hours a day for 5 days to get a single upgrade for a card. Maybe along the way I would get some cards from draft picks, sure, but I'm just not having any fun. When the primary way of playing a game isn't really fun to me, I really question why I am playing it.

That's the root problem with these treadmill F2P games nowadays. The core gameplay is super repetitive and mind numbing, with rewards and "fun" spaced out just enough so you keep playing. The only way to speed it up is to pay, which is what they want. For you to pay to skip on playing.
