Curious how this happens, just played someone in QC that had I think 14 wins and 4 losses. Had a full legend lineup with I think 3 of 5 of them being pros and all of his 5 players were fully trained. Where are these guys getting the cards to train their guys without playing? Are they just simply buying like thousands of team packs?

Might have bought epic packs before legendary and used the epics to train or since its full legends, could have used legends to train once he got the 3 pros.

I have a theory as to why CD is not fixing matchmaking as well as we would like at least.
Each season has one or two or even a few trucks who all likely paid money (more than average). For those that have not paid (or paid less), CD is likely using this system to incentivize them to pay to become "truck-like". If they put all the trucks into the same brackets they are putting their highest paying customers together all of whom have a smaller chance of winning. They want to keep these players happy and this also encourages the non-payors to open up the wallets especially when there is all this talk of trucks.

This is just my theory, but financially it makes sense to optimize sales for CD. Am I reaching?

Yeah delete all your best cards... the game uses your best 15 cards so if your top 15 cards are weak enough, you can fall out of the final tier and get closer match ups.

I tried this theory by making a new team and queuing at the exact same time (actually 1 minute later) as my main account. It took almost 2 hours to get a season going (main account took like 10 minutes) and the match up is much closer (no one over 1k).

The threshold, based on forum posts seem to be around 2000 rating so if you're top 15 cards (fully trained) with the best 10 in your rotation, can't get your average rating above 2k, you'll get a fair season. Otherwise you go into a queue with all the other team with > 2k (and by >2k, its fully train, top 15 cards regardless of who's in your line-up... that's why you see some teams under 2k in season, they are not fully train'd or not using their best cards).

Partially correct... i'll explain it from a programmer point of view.

The correct algorithm for match making appears to be very simple. Basically its divided up into multiple tiers (mostly at the lower level) and 1 final tier at the top. The final tier appears to start at around 2k (average). Since most teams are over 2k (at least after a few season), that's why you face trucks. This can be fixed by making more tiers @ higher ratings but the problem with that is queue time. With the patch, i say it's safe to say there will be more tiers added in the future for 3k and maybe even 4k (and some inbetween).

That said, unless the algorithm is completely alter (i.e. same start time for everyone like RC), there is no way of avoiding a final imbalance tier. At least no realistic way because at the higher level, there are fewer teams and since each season takes upto 5 days... that means someone like Twista, if he misses a queue, might need to wait 5 full days for a season because all teams near him just started one. Also the same teams will often face each other (which gets boring fast). Considering all the top teams are likely CD's best customers, it makes no sense to make them wait so long for a queue nor for them to get bored. Add to that, the side-effect of imbalance final tier indirectly gives others incentive to buy packs (i.e. get beat by a truck or be the truck), it works out for them.

Basically don't expect any algorithm change in the future but expect more tiers added. This will help lower rating teams but if you're above say 4k (or whatever the cut off point is for the final tier), it will only make things WORST for you because odds of you facing one of the top teams will only be higher. That also means once you upgrade your line-up pass the cut off point, you might want to think about deleting cards...

So if what you are saying is true If I only had 15 cards to my name. it would be best to fill my reserves with commons rather then actual good cards since that would bring down my top 15 card rating?

There excuse for matchmaking is always they don't want people waiting 2-5 hours to get matched up , I don't know of anyone who would rather be in a season with a few trucks for 90+ hours with no chance of making it past 2nd round , than to wait 5 , 6, even 10 hours to get matched up evenly. I'm at 4,200 stats and doesn't make a difference , now they just match me wit 2-3 5500 stats , a few 3k-3500 stats and the rest 2k-3k .

Also guys don't waist your energy in playoffs if your at 2k and facing a guy at at 4k -5k. I see guys waiting 40 energies just to get swept vs somebody like me while I don't use 1. Your gonna need those energies when you actually have a chance at Winning and then have to pay for them

I would rather wait the 10 hours to get a fair season then wait 4 days to try again joining a season that is fair. Not sure why anyone but a truck would want other wise.

Yessir! I'm not sure about ihaka but this guy lineup is crazy. He has low stat totals but our games are always close. I know you're waiting until the playoffs to put in your real lineup Syd aka Mr. Sandbags lol.

Ya bro I wont be able to beat you for sure in the finals. Your stats are little high. U went from 6k to almost 7k.
I just play my epic line up cause if I know I cant win no point. Cause I dont even have full set of legendaries to fill their correct spots.
