Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
This forum represents a sampling of the user base. You've got heavy hitters and you've got free players. If the vast majority of people here are upset with something, it's a pretty good assumption that the rest of the user base isn't happy with it, either. I'm not suggesting that everyone is on these boards. I'm suggesting that there's enough of a diverse sampling here to represent the community.IGN: Wade County/Heat Wave

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
Nope, that's actually not the case. Prior to AH, packs were their primary method of revenue. Now, revenue comes from both packs and AH. What they lost in pack sales (although I'd bet HOF, MVP and P&P packs still sell), I'm sure they more than made up for in AH profit. It's about increasing revenue, which sometimes means sacrificing one revenue stream for another.Comment

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
I'm just irritated at the moment because, aside from a few snarky posts, my post history is overwhelmingly rational and complimentary to CD and NWGD, but I got singled out and compared to a political fanatic incapable of changing my mind.
I've seen an incredible amount of vitriol aimed at NWGD specifically and at CD specifically, and I'm in the thread trying to make suggestions that I think would be mutually beneficial to the players and the company, and out of all the people who might have ever said something aimed at him, he decides to call me the irrational fanatic?
Objectively, I believe that being thoroughly open and honest about changes would result in a much healthier relationship between NWGD and his company with the community. Nearly all of the nasty posts I've seen since the most recent update came about because of a lack of transparent honesty about what was being changed and why.
Objectively, I believe that changing the "hot streaks expire at the end of the event" policy should result in a net increase in income from hot streaks for CD, and makes sense in light of having events every week that can use them.
The way it's set up for RC is understandable because of stacking, it would be a bit unfair for people to be able to hoard them for future events, since it's a player vs player event.
I completely agree about changing the hot streak policy for the RttC challenge though, since stacking for the event would essentially be irrelevant.

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
Even assuming that NWGD read that line as completely serious ... don't you think there's some serious cherry picking of my posts going on if he arrives at the conclusion that I am analogous to a political fanatic who will never change my mind and that it is acceptable for him as a senior member of his company to slam me with that in a public forum?
My post history is roughly 255ish posts long. A great many of them are quite positive. You have to very specifically go looking for places where I was sarcastic or just outright annoyed and said something out of anger/frustration.
I mean ... NWGD has lamented that he gets taken out of context or that people only look at some of what he says and ignore the good stuff ... and then he does exactly the same thing to me. I can't recall him ever comparing any other customer to a political zealot, and I am so far away from being the harshest critic on these forums.
It just seems ... I suppose ironic fits as well as anything.QG Tier: Legendary++

Eric Heimburg, developer and producer for Asheron's Call 2, a developer on the Star Trek Online team and now an indie MMO developer (his project, Gorgon, is actually quite interesting), made a very cogent post about the issues with forums here which you may find entertaining and informing.QG Tier: Legendary++

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
The problem is that forums by definition cannot be trusted to be a "representative sample" of the entire population, and thus cannot be relied upon the same way that representative polling can.

I read the first paragraph and pretty much new where it was going. It's pretty obvious that people in forums go out of their way to post bad feedback but will not bother with good feedback, at least not generally.

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
Why the need to nerf the entire rewards structure at every tier because the top reward of the top tier is a little too much? Everyone points to the "3 stars", but that's one reward. The rest of the rewards were pretty damn good, no?
Don't see the logic here. Removing restrictions will allow people to advance further a little quicker, especially initially, but the "end game" would actually be significantly further. If we consider the end game as HOF Pros, priced at 10k a chance, then lowering prices means it would take us longer to afford more packs, no? So you're speeding up the start game and slowing down the end game.
You're also the 1%, who will spend regardless of the structure. For every opinion I hear from a free player, I try to balance that against your perspective, but both are important.Comment
