I am currently first after 79 games, and the #4 is going to screw me out of a playoff card. His lineup is stronger, and he was one game clear in third. Perfect I thought, until he lost to someone game 79. Third and fourth are now tied, and I have a clean run if he ends up on the other side of the bracket. He is listed second in the tie. Too late for me to drop as I am four games clear of second with three to go. A sickly feeling

The Hawks went 22-8. ATL isnt big enough with that frontcourt.

That's why they should give up Horford for Howard and Millsap needs to be re-signed. This way Hawks get a defender and still have a low post man. Even though I think Howard is washed up now, he needs a change of scenery

That's why they should give up Horford for Howard and Millsap needs to be re-signed. This way Hawks get a defender and still have a low post man. Even though I think Howard is washed up now, he needs a change of scenery

Howard never learned to play the game. He can only dunk. Dude's got no post moves at all. It's a shame to see someone with such amazing physical abilities wasting his career like that. It's obvious that he hasnt worked on his game at all.

When Lebron started playing, he also relied heavily on his amazing athletic abilities and his body size, but over the years he developed several other "tools". He is a great passer, he improved his shooting a lot (his first year he shot 41% FG and 29% 3pt and now he is an over 50% FG and 36-37% 3pt shooter), and generally he's shown he's matured over the years.

Same thing goes for Blake Griffin. He is not just a "dunking machine" anymore. He improved his game immensely, with post moves, drives and that mid-range jumper.

Right, me and someone I worked with had this discussion. Relied heavily on athleticism and developed no shot, wants to be Shaq so bad and can't stack up. He can still defend when he wants to, he just proved that. Howard is only concerned about being the team face and not winning. What happens when the athleticism fades...you become Kendrick Perkins take notes DeAndre Jordan

For that reason, I would actually choose Horford over Howard for the next, I don't know, 5 years.

Mentality'wise, I still think Howard is more of a child compare to Horford. That might be because one was drafted to the NBA after highschool, while the other was a 2X NCAA champion. But Horford just seem to me a more mature and hard worker. He doesn't commit a lot of fouls to get into foul trouble, and he averages +70% of his free throws. All these are saying that they are different type of C and I would choose Horford over Howard. Skills can make up of athleticism and it becomes even more apparent when a player is greater than 30 years old.
