                        Re: Card Stats

I have seen this question asked in various forms in different threads, but I wanted to answer it here. The question is, "Why did you reduce energy on the Magic Johnson card, but refused to lower the stats on Super Rodman?" The other related question was, "Why does Rodman have such high all Control?"

Let me answer the second question first, Rodman ended up with high Ball Control because of his Rebound stats. Rebounds is worked into Ball Control and for the most part works, but Rodman's Rebounds was really high. That coupled with his position ended up giving him high Ball Control, higher than we wanted. Although the formula for Ball Control does take into account Rebounds in our game it is mostly a Guard stat for passing and dribbling. Instead we put more numbers into Defense for Rodman, which although isn't exclusively the realm of Rebounds, for Rodman it made sense for him to have higher Defense.

For the first question, we lowered Magic's 300+ energy because it was game breaking. In general we never like to nerf someone's existing cards, but in this case it was just so outside the norm we had to lower his energy. At the same time though we did increase his Ball Control though, so we didn't feel like it was an overall nerf. For Rodman, his "Super" card is certainly not what we intended but it also is not game breaking. Instead of taking away something from players that ultimately wasn't breaking the game, we just nerfed all future Rodman cards and left the ones out there as is. Like I said, we don't like to nerf cards people already have.

IF rebounds goes towards ball control then y when ur playin a quick game and rebound comes up it's for the defensive category

Because the formula we use to create our 4 simple numbers uses 100+ stats from the console game. When I created the Rebound event in Quick Games I considered it mostly a Defense play (yes, I know offensive rebounds exist). However, the formula to crunch the stats down took into account some rebound stats (in the 100 stats they are broken up a few different ways). Honestly, it is more complicated than you think to try and take a lot of stats for real basketball and get it down to a simple 4 stats.

I like the calculations and formulas you guys use at CD. The three cards that absolutely floor me are in reference to the offense. Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain and Kevin Durant. Their Offense should be very very high.

I agree. KD is one of the best scores of all time No way doctor J (one of my fav players of all time) should have a better offense. Doctor J could not shoot the ball that well kd can do it from any where
