Re: Patch Notes
Re: Patch Notes
There aren't even leaderboards for records in this game..
I don't know why that would surprise anyone. This forum is full of boy scouts. Can't curse, people crying to mods over nothing, multiple bannings for zero reason whatsoever. All seems pretty much in line..Comment

Re: Patch Notes
Re: Patch Notes
I wanted to address a couple of things I have read across multiple threads, just going to post it here so it is easier to find.
First off, the incomplete patch notes are my fault. To be honest, in the course of developing an update we change a lot of things and I don't always remember everything of note to put in the release notes. We track all the stuff but through hundreds of changes I miss things. I simply forgot about the back button change, the delete button added, etc.
The back button change. We changed this because backing out of a losing game was never intended. We originally put the button in to fix a crash state you could get into during a game. We never designed it to "save your record" or to "save a Hot Streak". If there is no risk of losing a game then it really kills any strategy you have as to how/when you use Hot Streaks. If Hot Streaks were a guaranteed win every time then we might as well just give you a card that immediately adds +5 to your score. There is no fun in that. With the risk of losing a game you now have to think, do I pick the +10 game which will be hard, or go for the +6 game that is medium, or just take the easy +2. This wasn't some malicious money grab, we honestly don't make the most from Hot Streaks anyway. It was a pure gameplay decision.
With that said, I understand why some people are upset since we didn't always have it that way. Let me explain a bit more of the easy, medium, hard matches to help you make your decisions on how to play Hot Streaks.
An easy (+1) match up will be against a deck that is always rated lower than yours. You are very likely to win this game unless the wrong events come up vs. your weak stats on your cards.
A medium (+3) match up is against an even rated deck with +/- 10%. So you could get slightly harder or slightly easier. You can probably win this game, but if you play the wrong cards or get tough events then you could lose.
A hard game (+5) matches you with someone that is 90-150% of your rating. You could get someone beatable, but you are likely to encounter some very tough competition. It works out where 50% of the time you'll get someone you can beat on average. It's a risk but the reward is obviously very good since you can score high points here.
Finally, I will say this update was more focused on the MyGame side and integrating it better into MyTeamMobile. You can now get VC by playing Quick Games which is huge if you're playing the console game. You also get Credits for free and we threw in the Rookie cards as something fun. As I have stated before, the next update will focus on MyTeamMobile with some hefty changes to Season including reward changes and several things that people have suggested here. Obviously, I am biased but I think this update provided quite a bit of new features that many players will/are enjoying.
As always, I hope you enjoy the game.NWGameDad

Re: Patch Notes
NW, all of that is cool. We'll adjust to the back button and that's at you guys' discretion how you want to play that. Personally I think you'll lose more money on hot streaks but that's your gamble and from the gaming side of things, it makes sense.
However, my main complaint is the leaderboard is STILL frozen and it's been frozen for about 7 hours now.Name: Brian

Re: Patch Notes
Also just since a lot of us sound like a bunch of whining complainers myself included, I'd like to say the VC implementation and the new cards in the lottery are all really cool. Thanks a lot.
But the leaderboard issue really needs to be explicitly addressed or something needs to be done. A lot of us aren't happy about it and we'd prefer to at least have a straight answer on what's going on.Name: Brian

I need to talk with my engineer on why the leaderboard is behind again. We spun up more servers yesterday and it pulled it back in line, but clearly we're behind again. Not sure why yet, but we're working to address ASAP.NWGameDad

Thanks.
Also, whenever you try to delete a card, it the 'Do you want to delete a rare card?' message pops up, even if it's a common or uncommon card.Comment

Re: Patch Notes
Yes, it's a text bug. We changed it to warn you about deleting any card since that is a completely lost card at that point, but we forgot to switch the text from referencing only Rare+ cards.
Another known issue is that the 2 new Rookie cards for CP3 and Anthony Davis have them as Pelicans instead of New Orleans Hornets. We're fixing that shortly.
Also, just wanted to note that we chose the 9 Rookies based on their All Star votes this year. These were some of the top vote getters. We needed 3 of each rarity which is why some of the stats you may feel are deflated from their rookie season. However, if you look at these guy's rookie years some of them were not the stars that they are today. Oh, and you can Pro up the Rookie cards if you get two.NWGameDad

Can you get these Rookie cards through drafting? Someone was claiming earlier that they drafted one of them.Yes, it's a text bug. We changed it to warn you about deleting any card since that is a completely lost card at that point, but we forgot to switch the text from referencing only Rare+ cards.

Re: Patch Notes
Re: Patch Notes
I understand the reason for the back button risk/reward , my issue is I used the button for both hot streaks and normal QG to mostly not accumulate single draft picks , which is fine and will deal with losing , but I also play this game with the intention of collecting all the cards , thus I'm sitting with 82 cards , all my season cards , single epics ,about 40 , and 42 rare cards waiting for a dup to complete collection , so it's really annoying and time killing to have to manage deck every 9 games , that's every 4-5 min I have to go dump cards , is there any plan to increase deck size , maybe 125 ? as I think it's not fair to anybody who wants to collect cards in events like rivals vs someone who doesn't care and can carry 40 cards , thus playing 30-40 games in a row in RC ,huge time advantage , I don't think that's fair to be penalized , albeit non intentionally , for collecting .

The entire point, or at least the only one I can see, of a delete button is to quickly dispose of useless cards. It defeats the purpose of the delete button if you need to confirm the deletion of every card. I would keep the confirmation button for rares or better, but it wastes time for common and uncommon cards, to the point that I don't use it. Also, a Discard button at the draft summary would be be really helpful.
