    Re: Announcing MyNBA2K15!

Not on iOS yet. Considering that the approval process can take up to a week, not including weekends, on the Apple side, a app should always be pushed out on Android a few days after it has been pushed out to Apple. The approval process on the Google side is pretty much non existent so it'll go end up on Google Play a lot faster. You can't predict when the game will hit iOS but you won't end up leaving the iOS crowd hanging for 2+ days since I doubt it'll hit the App Store today. Luckily I do have an Android phone so been playing the game on that. Would much prefer playing it on my iPad however.

Yeah, the way they rolled this game out was about as bad as possible.

      1. I don't see how they couldn't have foreseen issues with getting Loyalty cards, when they took away one way to log into the game. If somebody logged in via their 2K account, and you can't do that anymore, how is that person gonna get their loyalty rewards?

You COULD go back to the 2k14 app, and sync your data with Game Center/Google Play... but the 2k14 app isn't available anymore, so you would have had to do that beforehand... but...

      2. CD was super secretive about the release, for no discernable reason. Why so secretive about the app releasing with the console game? Why is that something we just couldn't be allowed to know?

If we had known details of release beforehand, we all could have gotten everything straight for ourselves before release. Instead, now CD is gonna have a flood of emails from people who didn't have their stuff straight, because CD never gave details. It's stupid.

      3. iOS games have set release dates all the time, and they meet them. Why is this case different? I've never submitted an app to Apple, but there's GOTTA be a way to submit in time, then have them hold the release until a specific date. Again, games come out with specific release dates ALL THE TIME on iOS.

Now, I play on Android, and I play through Google Play Games, so I had no issues, but this whole thing just seems like a situation that could have been avoided pretty easily.

I downloaded 2K14 to my new phone yesterday. Google play keeps a record of every app you download. I have several that I can download that aren't 'available' anymore.

          1. I see your point if they took away a log in

          2. Why set a release date? They missed the projection for iOS and Android. I think people would be a lot madder if they said oct 7th and were not able to play than just expecting whenever we get it.

          3. They appear to have just finished production and probably didn't have time to insert their submission for the app in the 11 day average timeframe for Apple approval.

            2. By that logic, nobody should ever set a release date for anything, because they might just miss it. There are all sorts of reasons to set release dates.. that's why 90% of the gaming industry does it, and 100% of the film/music industries. It's obviously a good idea.

For the sake of this conversation though, the release should have been more transparent all around. If people knew exactly what was happening, there's be so many less problems than what's already been, and what is SURELY coming once the iOS version releases.

            3. That definitely seems like what happened, which makes it a little disingenuous to be blaming Apple for the app coming out late.

Maybe we see this is different lights but I see them as rushing to get the game to us and appreciate the effort being given.

They most likely did set a date for the app to be released on iOS. Most developers do & it's something Apple does try to meet under most conditions. Cat Daddy most likely did not give Apple a big enough window to approve & get the game out in time. You have to consider that a lot of app junk gets pushed out in October to December that are holiday related. I am not an app developer but like most people here, we all have a friend or two that has released something on iOS. A friend of mines did some art assets for a GhostBusters game that released awhile back so my knowledge comes from what he has told me.

I'm plenty appreciative of what they did. I'm still gonna call BS when I see it though. There were things handled in ways that would have obviously been better if handled otherwise.

As for the app coming late on iOS, again.. I play Android anyway. I just think it's disingenuous to blame Apple, as if it isn't CD's fault that it got to Apple at a time that would jeopardize the release timeframe.

I'm just all for transparency and respect going all ways.

They should have waited until the loyalty rewards were working before releasing the app. Now, people that spent time and money to have an advantage when this game was released have effectively lost that advantage if they were one of the unfortunates who did not receive their reward cards.
