Q: What are the ways to play in MyNBA2K15?
- Quick Game - Short 1-3 minute card battles where you engage with an opposing team using your 5 best players in a 4 quarter game. You acquire free Draft Picks for playing (2 if you win, 1 if you lose), which allows you to gain new cards.
- Season Games - A ~5 day NBA Season simulation using 15 of your cards. 82 regular games are played followed by the Playoffs. Games play every 30 minutes, with 30 minutes in between to allow time for you to adjust your players.
Q: What are Loyalty Reward cards?
Players of MyNBA2K14 had an opportunity to receive special loyalty reward cards in MyNBA2K15 for being faithful players of both games. If you played MyNBA2K14 up to September 8, 2014, and you logged into MyNBA2K15 with the same account, then you automatically receive these cards based on your MyNBA2K14 deck rating.
Q: Why didn’t I get my Loyalty Reward cards?
Be sure you logged into MyNBA2K15 with exactly the same account as you used on MyNBA2K14. If you logged into MyNBA2K14 with *only* a 2K Sports account we have found a bug that may prevent you from receiving your cards. We are working on a hot fix now that will fix the problem. Once that is out you will automatically get your Loyalty Cards.
If you started an account on MyNBA2K14 after September 8th, 2014 then you’re not eligible for the Loyalty Rewards and will not receive the cards.
Q: What are Deck Tiers and what do they do?
Deck Tier is determined by what player cards are being used in your Quick Game and Season Game teams. This is used for matchmaking purposes, so you can be matched against a player with a similar Deck Tier. There is a separate Deck Tier for each game mode, so it is possible that you will be in a different tier in Quick Games than in Season Games. Deck Tier also affects the rarity of cards you can earn from each mode. The higher your tier, the better the rewards!
Q: I am stuck in a tier, how do I advance?
You should never be stuck in a tier. It may take some acquisition of new cards to advance, but rewards from Season games, lucky pulls from the Draft Board, or rewards from the Ladder should help you.Don’t forget to level up all your cards in Quick Game and Season. That will increase the stats on the cards and allow you move higher in a tier.
Also, remember that Pro cards are very powerful and can greatly increase your deck strength. A Pro card will typically be better than a single card of the tier above it.Hang on to single cards of your current tier and eventually you’ll start matching them up allowing you to Pro them to advance your deck.
Finally, utilize Enhancements to boost your cards even further. One Enhancement by itself might seem small but loading all of yours slots up will greatly increase your card stats and help with advancement in the tiers.
Q: How am I matched with opponents?
The computer will match you both in Quick Games and Seasons based on your Deck Tier. Your current tier will always be displayed in the top left corner, on both the Quick Game and Season screens. The tiers for each mode are separate, so it is possible to be in different tiers for each mode. Some tiers have a wide range of opponents to keep it challenging, so when you first enter a new tier you may end up losing a bit more until you’re able to beef your cards up in the new tier. However, playing in higher tiers will net you higher rewards, so the risk is usually worth the reward.
Q: Am I playing against real people in Season Games?
Yes and no. You’re playing against a real person’s deck, as well as the decisions they make to energize their players and use their boosts. In the actual match, the AI will choose which cards are played for each round, for both you and your opponent.
Q: How exactly do Season Games play out?
In a Season Game, each team has 10 active players used in the game. The 5 players on the bench are never used and just gain energy from resting on the bench.A Season Game consists of 4 quarters. One event happens per quarter. The event is then played by 2 of your players.
Your players are laid out by position, a Starter and a Back Up in each position. The AI will use Starters first in an event.Once a Starter has been used, it cannot be used again until their Back Up has been used in an event.Effectively they swap places after each use (in your UI though they will not switch positions). When the AI selects players to use in an event it chooses the 2 best players from the 5 “front” players.
The winner of each quarter is determined by how many points are scored by your 2 players. The team with the highest score at the end of all 4 quarters wins the game.
Q: Am I playing against real people in Quick Matches?
Yes and no. You’re playing against a real person’s deck, but the AI controls it. This allows you to have quick and uninterrupted gameplay.
Q: Do my Wins and Losses affect my rewards?
No, your Wins/Loss tracker is simply there for fun so you know how well you’ve been doing in your battles. They do not affect your rewards or the opponents you’re matched with.
Q: How do player abilities trigger?
Abilities are triggered randomly when the player is played. The chance for the ability to trigger is based on the rarity of the player. Here are the current trigger percentages:
Uncommon - 15%
Rare - 17.5%
Super Rare - 20%
Ultra Rare - 25%
Epic - 30%
Legendary - 33%
Q: What is the drop percentage of players from the Draft Board?
Although we will not disclose specific percentages, the first time you reach a new major rewards tier (Super Rare, Ultra Rare, Epic, Legendary, etc) you will be guaranteed to win a card from the tier on your current Draft Board. After that, the percentage chance of getting the highest tier reward in your rewards tier varies by the tier of rewards. Epics and Legendary cards will be difficult to acquire once you reach the Epic and Legendary reward tiers, but there is always a chance your next pull from the board could contain one of those cards. When you’re in the “+” or “++” stage of the deck tiers, you will have an even higher chance of gaining those top rewards.
Q: How can I get better support cards?
Support cards can only be received through picks on the draft board. Keep playing quick games to raise your deck tier and you’ll be able to earn higher rarity support cards.
Q: What are Enhancements?
Enhancement is a new feature for MyTeamMobile that allows you to customize your card’s stats. Player cards that are Rare or better will have 1-3 enhancement slots (seen in the top right corner). You win Enhancement cards to place in those slots from the Ladder Rewards, the Draft Board, and the Daily VC Bonus.Once you have an Enhancement you place it on a card and it permanently raises that card’s stats by the amount on the Enhancement card.Once you place an Enhancement it is used and cannot be taken off a card. You can no longer place other Enhancements on the card unless it has more open slots.
When you Pro a card with Enhancements on it, the Enhancements are destroyed, but the new Pro card will have slots available equal to the highest number of slots from the 2 cards used to Pro. For example, you have a Kobe Bryant with 1 slot with an Agility Enhancement already on it.You get another Kobe Bryant with 3 slots on it.After leveling both cards to maximum you Pro them together to make a better card. The resulting Pro gets 3 slots on it because of the number of slots on the 2nd Kobe, but the Agility Enhancement is destroyed. You’ll have to acquire 3 new Enhancement cards for your new Pro card.
Q: Are VC and Credits the same thing?
No, VC is the currency used in the NBA2K15 console game. Credits is the currency specific to the MyNBA2K15 companion app, used for purchases in MyTeamMobile.
Q: How do I earn Credits in the game?
You can acquire Credits by purchasing them, or using the Daily VC Bonus. You will automatically be sent to the purchase menu when attempting to spend more Credits than you currently have.
Q: Can I buy VC for the console game in the app?
No, you cannot. However, you can collect free VC via the Daily VC Bonus, Pick and Win games, and by playing Quick Games.
Q: How does the Daily VC Bonus work?
If you have played NBA 2K15, you’ll be able to login to the NBA 2K15 part of the app and tap on the Daily VC Bonus. Once a day you’ll be able to pick 3 cards from the board and convert 3 of those cards into a prize. You have 3 extra slots to store cards you want to save for later. There are 6 possible cards you can pull from the board as follows:

Q: When should I start a Season Game?
It all depends on your strategy. If you want to start earning rewards for a higher tier, then hold off starting a Season right away to give yourself time to acquire better cards and level up your players. If you want to use Season Games to always be earning as many free rewards as possible, then go ahead and join as soon as possible. Remember, Pro cards of a tier will typically beat non-Pro cards of a higher tier, so getting Pro rewards of a lower tier is never a bad thing.
Q: Why is the Season Game Mode so long?
The season game is designed to give you great rewards for making it through the playoffs. To win those rewards requires both dedication and good management of your time, players, boosts, and energy. If the game were shorter, the rewards would not be as good.
Q: Why can’t I use my card to Train or Combine? It says it’s “In Use” or “In Season”.
Cards that are in your Quick Game deck can be Combined, but cannot be used to train other cards. When you Combine a card that is in your Quick Game deck, it will be replaced by the resulting Pro card.
Cards that are in a Season cannot be used to train other cards and cannot be Combined with another card, until the Season is over. You will need to swap the card out before you are able to use it to train another card, or combine with a duplicate card.
In both cases, this system is in place to prevent you from accidentally training away cards that you’re using in one of your decks.
Q: I combined two cards to make a Pro card, but after I leveled it the stats are lower than my friend who has the same Pro card. What did I do wrong?
To get the full potential out of a Pro card, you should train both cards to maximum level before combining them. A Pro card’s maximum stats are determined based on the level of the two cards used to create it. A warning has been added to remind you if you’re attempting to Pro two cards that are not max level for Rare and up cards.
Q: What will I get when I buy a pack? What are the odds of getting certain rarities of cards?
Again, we will not disclose specific drop percentages. However, when you’re on the Get Cards screen, just tap on the question mark next to a pack description to get further details on exactly what you get in a pack.Things like a 6 player pack are not identical to buying 6, 1 player packs.
Q: Can I change my in game name?
No, you’re not able to change your name once you have created your account. This is for security purposes to ensure your account remains tied to your proper login.
Q: Can I swap in new players once a Season has started?
No. We have removed the ability to swap players into a Season that has already started. With the new tiering system of matching and rewards, this is to prevent players from exploiting the matchmaking. If we allowed swapping, players could match below their deck capabilities, then just swap in their best cards and stomp the competition. Since the 1st place reward gives you a card above the tier you play in, this was too easy to exploit.
