Why is Seasons AI so completely inept and awful?

So I decided to give it another try after being shafted my first time when the app first released. Waste of my time apparently.

I cruised to the third seed, could have easily gotten 2nd but I didn't even manage on the first day.

I basically got swept. By the 14th seed. Not even close. I had to use ALL 5 BOOSTERS and fully charge EVERYONE just to win one game by 4 points. Four. The next game I lost by 1 using all boosts.

The AI used my Playmaking boost WHEN THAT WASN'T EVEN THE CATEGORY! What???

How is that supposed to be fun at all? What the **** is going on? Seriously? Is there some freaking explanation?

It's like it's only 100% luck.

14th seed can have much better lineup. He just dont use energy refil a lot in regular season.

If you lose on one game because the AI didnt use your best players or because your opponent was lucky and got more Offense quarters etc. that's normal. That can happen. The weakest team CAN win on ONE game.

But i think over a period of 7 games where you must get 4 wins, then the best team will advance. You may get unlucky on one, perhaps two games, but on the long run, the best team will advance.

And it really doesnt matter what seed you are. In my last Epic season, i didnt energize at all, i finished 13th and then i swept all the playoff games to win the league. The really strong LU's sometimes dont care about their Qualifying position, they just focus on the post season.

Exactly, the season I just finished last night, I cruised to the #1 seed, and the #16 seed took me to 7 games. A lower seed doesn't always mean they are a bad team, just means they might not have paid as much attention as you did. Losing in a season isn't the end of the world, you can join another one, maybe this time you'll win. I'm sure everyone feels "shafted" when they lose in a season, but that's the breaks. Suck it up and move on.

Exactly, the season I just finished last night, I cruised to the #1 seed, and the #16 seed took me to 7 games. A lower seed doesn't always mean they are a bad team, just means they might not have paid as much attention as you did. Losing in a season isn't the end of the world, you can join another one, maybe this time you'll win. I'm sure everyone feels "shafted" when they lose in a season, but that's the breaks. Suck it up and move on.

This. it's not like you have to invest a ton of time into the seasons, set your line ups, refresh energy now and then, make it into playoffs. then focus for a day or so on keeping up your energy, and earn rewards you wouldn't have earned ANYWAYS. if nothing else, you get some fodder to feed, if you win round 1, you just earned an appropriate tier card for yourself. victory! for minimal effort! i don't get the whole 'WASTE OF TIME' argument. seasons play out on their own... you just have to check on them periodically. quick games take up way more time than seasons if you consider how much ACTUAL time you're doing something with your app.

I skated into my most recent UR season playoffs as the 7th seed, and proceeded to crush my way to the finals because i only energized my players every 5-7 hours a day so i lost a lot of games during the regular season but playoffs i just paid closer attention. Welcome to Season Time Management Course 101. You're currently getting a D+.

Do you think it would be a useful feature to implement a "Home Court Advantage" where, say, the "home team" gets a slight boost to their stats?

I was going to suggest that the "home team" gets more likelihood at offense quarters, but then it struck me that CD would be admitting offense was a little OP, and they'd never do that because it's a bad PR move.

this is a great idea! it'll make the games fair too with the x amount of offensive quarters known to the players. we'll all have equal opportunities.

they can just omit the part where they'll give more offensive quarters to the home team, you know? just say we'll give them an advantage and that's it.

I'd love to see us have the option to set priority for players. Set a rebounding player to be saved for a category with rebounding, same for players with high defense etc. right now I'm seeing my on category players being played in their worst stat for no reason. This would give players an advantage if they have balanced teams. Right now it's essentially random.

NBA and WWE I noticed has a small issue with this.

I look at results of some of my games(regardless if I won or lost) and realize that sometimes the player it puts out there for a matchup, isn't even the best guy on my team at the stat category for that quarter(or in WWEs case,that match), who knows if I would've won if they did put the best one out there but you'll never know.....

And when the simming plays your support cards, it doesn't always play the right one. For example,lets say I have a +20 offense card,and a +5 all card. The stat category for the quarter is something like "offense and playmaking". The AI would play the +5 all card instead of the +20 offense card,even though the +20 offense card clearly helps my player more in this situation(since it's +20) than the +5 all card(which just gives me +10 boost in this quarter)

That's why i only play team support cards, because even if the AI uses them wrong at least they 'll have their effect used later.

Damn! Just got beat by the 15 seed and I was the 2 seed. guy had 2 cards better than me but he got Offense almost every time against my defense in 4 out of the 5 games!

This is a horrible setup CD! 4 days of watching my season down the drain...

whoever gets the most offense is going to win since most cards have way higher offense. Need to be more "specialist and two way players". If you notice the diaw and green cards that we got for loyalty are rated more to their true to life game(green, two way player good defense and solid offense and diaw playmaking defender) while their ultra rare cards have way higher offense. A way to help would be to keep the offense even or maybe home team get 1 extra possession.

In my last season, I barely got into Epic tier (like I could barely see the orange mark in my Epic tier). My best cards were RC Howard and Bird. The rest were Ultra Rares and Epics with a common bench. In the finals, I run into a player named "Dennis" with a Legendary pro Noah, five more Legendaries, and the rest Epic pros. Please tell me how this matchmaking is even close to being fair. Even if the opponent used a common bench, I just don't see how we're even close to being fairly matched up.

I think the common cards weigh down things alot. One of the reasons why I've been hoping that the tier rules get changed. There needs to be a max limit on cards in a higher tier than the one you're in. And a limit on amount of cards in a lower tier than yourself as well. So that way, we can get rid of all these people who have 5 cards in a higher tier and rest are common or something(for season mode) or exhibition ones where 3 are from higher tiers and 2 are from lower.

Cause it does get annoying not just in season,but exhibition. Playing someone who has 3 cards in a tier higher than mine, and the other 2 cards are commons or something.

It's good and bad. Good if you manage to beat 1 of those 3 cards cause then it's an automatic win. Bad cause you don't know just how good those 3 cards are, so you don't know when to use your best card/play the support card.

Don't get me wrong, I do win most of these matchups, but it makes the game less fun always facing people with those types of lineups. Facing people with lineups similar to mine would be more fun cause then it involves real strategy and knowing if you lose,it's cause the other side simply had a better lineup or just had better AI strategy, not cause they had 3 ultra rares + 2 commons in their lineup while you had 5 super rares.

So this is the game that I lost and one of the matches is impossible that I lost. It is exactly a 6 point swing. -3 for him and + 3 for me.


Paul Pierce - Offense - my card is at 920
Penny Hardaway - Defense - 717 (bonus is Dimer 60 to PM, notice )

I will give the benefit of the doubt
Lets assume that the cat has added 3 Super Rare Defense, it would be more likely that 3 helicopter collided, but I will entertain the thought.
717 + 45 + 5% in place bonus = 764

My Pierce was in place which results in a 966.

How can this cat jump 200 points and beat me?


The season is almost over and I am still only at 1 loss.
