Right, I think that makes the most sense. You can't send the entire board client-side, otherwise you risk something intercepting that and using it to select the clear card every time. And, since you have to make a call after every pick anyway, it may make more sense to just run the pick logic at that time. There are, however, other factors that go into it. You still need certain logic in there to perform validation and prevent cheating. There are certain parameters that need to be passed in to help with the pick generation (tier, number of cards remaining on the board, etc.). You can't expect those to come from client-side, so that has to happen on the server-side, which adds complexity to each call.

I think its kinda like that:
Your selected card has a chance of 1/n of being a board clear.
with n being the number of cards still on the board.
If it is a board clear it looks at your current tier and your highest ever. If your current is higher it gives you a card from that tier (freebie) and resets the counter.
If your tier is equal or lower it checks what tier u get, also considering your reset counter.
Since we dont know the real numbers i'm just gonna make some up.
Lets say your in Leg++ so you're chance of getting a Legendary is 3/100 plus your counter which increases by 0.5 for every time it wasnt a card in your current tier.
For rare it would be like 50/100 minus cour counter / 4 (number of tiers below your current tier)
So at some point that number is gonna reach 100 getting u your guaranted reset.

I could be wrong, but the give away that it is server-side is when you have slow bandwidth. After every draft pick, it has to wait for a call to the server (which means you're waiting if you have no connection). Likewise, the actual 5-on-5 game is client side...there is no waiting after every play of every card within a quick game.

I played the RC completely in Legendary ++, made about 6000 points, ie. won 1200 games, but didn't draft a single Epic. Not one.

I'm starting to wonder, if RC has got the same drop chances as Quick Games have. Maybe not.

It does. Keep track of board clears, games played is not important.

I'll have to get on my ipad and post my results...But I was in your boat yonder..

I did have one epic reset...but I didn't pull a single...Not a single Ultra Rare during the entire RC!!!

I ended with 5725pts...haven't done all the numbers on games won and all but thats unreal to not pull a single ultra rare but i'm on the verge of another epic reset...games confusing, or maybe its just our luck?

I played the entire RC at Leg++. Tuesday to Saturday I landed 5 Epics in 208 boards (guessing it was actually 210 and I missed 2 board clears somewhere). Landed a couple more Sunday, if I remember correctly (stopped keeping track as I knew RC Rodman would bump me up to Star).

I have about 700 clears of legendary ++ data that I'll post as soon as I get my next reset. Will come in next 40 boards...post by tonight. Should give a good representation of epic drop %. Then, on to Star!

Leg Resets: 4 (board #19, 199, 194, 207) Average: 154.75
Rares: 380 (30 support) - 61.5%
Super: 72 (10) - 11.7%
Ultra: 17 (3) - 2.5%
Epic: 14 (5) - 2.3%
Enhance: 49 - 7.9%
Boost: 81 - 13.1%

Thanks to RC, now I'm on to Star...

3/4 of the time on Leg and the rest on Leg+ with a reset at 226 boards.
