Back in the 80s/90s tons of people dropped 20 dollars at the arcade to get their game on every weekend. I see credits in games like these in a similar way as tokens you would buy at the arcade. It's all for fun. It's great people don't have to buy credits to play this game but I understand why people do.

Re: Update 5 Release Notes and Auction House Beta
I finally realized that this game is not like Fifa or NBA 2K where you can buy and sell players as you like and be able to buy your dream team. In this game it is hard to obtain cards, and if you want to get something you have to sacrifice something else (EG: Selling two legs to buy a leg you can dupe)
We should all keep the players prices to the minimum bid, though.
Not doing so is bad for both the buyer and the seller.Comment

Re: Update 5 Release Notes and Auction House Beta
Some people on here are complaining about prices...but it's still a bargain if you SELL cards. For example, I have some decision making to do: I have 15 star cards with no dupe, so do I sell one of those Star cards for say 6000, and then pay for a dupe that is also 6000. The reality of it is that the sale has only cost me 1800 (6000 x 30%). Maybe I lessen that by selling one of my many legendaries. It may have cost me an individual star card, but it gained me a dupe. Or I can wait it out through my star seasons and resets, but I have a feeling Star seasons are about to get a lot more competitive. It's just a matter of strategy...IGN: illmatic1

Re: Update 5 Release Notes and Auction House Beta
Yep, look at DOTA2
It is entirely free to play and free to win but people still drop massive $$ on entirely cosmetic items.
I'm not even a huge DOTA fan, I'm not very good, but I've still spent about $60 on the game, my usual limit for free to play games I enjoy.
I spent $60 on a credit pack for this game too, because I enjoy it. I got a Star RS Bill Russell and am content with that, even though in hindsight I did get a little lucky, but didn't realise I would have to buy more RS packs to ever pro him
There are some balance issues with the game I'd like to see addressed *cough* offensive *cough*, but overall its fun and as a huge NBA and Pacers nerd, getting a good card drop is super satisfying. Give me a Reggie Miller Rivals Clash and I'll drop whatever it takes to get him(I know not gonna happen but still)

Re: Update 5 Release Notes and Auction House Beta
Hello NW!
Thanks for the info on the AH update. Is there any chance that super rare enhancements will be available in the draft board or some other means in the future? I have a large number of legendary pros with no enhancements because I am waiting for super rares to be released to the general population.Comment

Do guys have tons of credit to buy something? That´s something I don´t see. Maybe I am wrong, but if the minimum bid is linked to the pack prices, I don´t see a chance that you really have a big market. Because that would mean, that a lot of guys spend hundred of dollars into credits.Comment

That is fine, but is there really a market for it?

In my Leg++ QC bracket, I would say a good 1/3rd of my opponents are very low games played with 2-3 Record Setter Legendary or Star players they haven't even played enough games to level fully.Comment

If not, I have to train them awayComment

Re: Update 5 Release Notes and Auction House Beta
Doubt it, I think most of the big spenders in the game want to amass lots of stars/legendary right away. Should be a decent market for Ultra Rares from new players who want to rise up more organically or people who want to use them to quickly train up Star cards.Comment

Re: Update 5 Release Notes and Auction House Beta
That´s my feeling too, cause I don´t see a lot of guys who want to complete their catalogue (as long as there is no revenue).
And that would mean, that only the big guys or people who spend a lot of money can proceed faster.
Mind the gap, cause it will grow
But let us wait, we will see tomorrow.Comment
