Re: Update 5 Release Notes and Auction House Beta
Read the thread. We understand that. But at that rate the star cards in least supply will NEVER sell at that minimum. People will still buy packs because they might not want the Nick Young Star card and might look elsewhere, but the newcomer might want that star card at 3000-4000. Some cards will never sell with a minimum. Period. There should be a minimum on buy-it-now, but not on any other card.IGN: illmatic1

Re: Update 5 Release Notes and Auction House Beta
I'm seeing a lot of this: There is also a lebron with a 1 starting price farther down, and i saw a unibrow star with the same thing.
If i bid 6 tokens on them, it says its pending, but then almost immediately tells me I've been outbid by (blank space).

Re: Update 5 Release Notes and Auction House Beta
Some thoughts on the first day with the Auction House.
First of all, I actually sold some cards. Two super rare and one ultra rare, but I guess that was just luck.
It is pretty hard to evaluate the situation without your KPI. Even harder for me, because I play the game since beginning of February. For example how much does an player spend for credits on average, how many active players do you have, how many uses the Auction House, etc.
That are only things you can answer yourself, but out of my view. You will have a big problem to get a booming market.
And here is why:
Minimum Price per Tier
It is killing the market for lower tier players and they are pretty useless
Auction Fee
Makes it even more senseless to place an auction, if you might have the fear they won´t sell
Auction duration
That is depending really on the active players, but as it stands right now 12h is way to much
30% Tax
That is really killing the fun at the moment, even if you sell something, you have to pay an enormous amount for it. As a lower tier player, I won´t use the Auction House, cause Fee + Tax + Minimum Price is killing the value of each card
To make it clear, I totally understand your point and the idea behind. Somehow you need to generate money. But my opinion is really, that you overplay it.
Credits and those restrictions are the limited factor - even with a lot of time or passion it won´t be able to generate those. You can not keep an eye on the market, the daily bonus is way to low and the money amount you have to spent is way to high.
In my opinion, the first day was great for all high tier players, because they could sell all their Legends, Epics and Stars they don´t need. And furthermore they are now able to look for duplicates. But what is next? Sure, there will be some guys who spend something to climb up the ladder, but the question is, is this enough?
In my opinion no, but that is really depending on the average spending of real money from players. If you are happy with it, that is fine. But I guess that wont be enough for a booming market.
So my ideas:
- get rid of the Auction fee, but keep the spots limited
- lower the taxes (maybe different rates per tier)
- lower the auction duration
- get rid of minimum bids - markets shouldn´t be controlled like that - would be the same if you say yes you can buy an share from Apple, but you have to pay 10 times what it is worth
- if a card don´t sell, offer an quick buy to generate at least some credits
(e.g Super Rare 75 Credits, Uncommon 40 Credits, ...) that will be assets for everybody
- change the structure of your packs, instead of one card give us some more, so they would be still worth to buy. You can get something, but most of the time you get **** out of it, like in FIFA, but still people are buying it for the hope
- change the pricing for credits, to make it more attractive for everybody and to generate more on average per player
But as I said, it is depending on your KPI´s, if you are happy with them. Stay with it, if not, there would be the time for a change. The same if there are not enough active players, that would also mean to stay with the old system.
But as it stands right now, I wouldn´t invest into the game. And if somebody is asking me, I would say exactly the same to him.
If you don´t fear that people might think the same, then you are fine. If not learn out of the betaComment

Re: Update 5 Release Notes and Auction House Beta
I posted this in the other thread by I think two simple changes could make AH work better for CD and users:
Instituting a higher minimum for pro tier cards would go a long way to restoring value to single cards.
I also think instituting a small grind credit would help, even if it was only 2-3 credits per quick game. You're not talking about infusing a large amount of credits per person, thereby not killing CD's ability to sell credit packs, but it would infuse a large amount of credits into the entire economy and that would get the AH listings to sell. Once the demand for singles and cards on the whole goes up, the values will begin to go up and the whole system would probably work better.Comment
