If Nique was in, some one would have to be out. Tough choice. And although they were kinda hasty to include Shaq, turns out they were right after all. They saw the raw talent and potential, and they were right.

Big Aristotle is definitely one of the 50 greatest and definitely in the top 4 of the greatest centers of all time (for me, Olajuwon, Wilt, Shaq, Jabbar).

Where do you put Bill Russell in that top 4 discussion? The guy has 11 rings.

Personally i rank him in the top 10. Havent had the chance to see full games but i know he played with quite a few Hall of Famers.

Have great respect for him and all his championships but in my (personal) opinion, those 4 rank above everyone else.

Russell is hands down the second best center of all time (Wilt obviously is the first). He has career averages of 15.1 ppg and an amazing 22.5 rpg. I think the only guy to average more rebounds a game is Chamberlin. In terms of all-time greats, I would put him top 3 behind Jordan and Wilt.

Statistically wilt is the best player ever. But he dominated as a 7 footer playing 6'6" guys. Shaq is the most physically dominating center. Russel has the most rings. All depends on your definition of best

That 44% in FG isnt particularly impressive for one of the biggest players of that era.

In my opinion, no one compares to Hakeem, he was the most complete center ever, in both sides of the court. Plus, we must keep in mind that Hakeem and Shaq, played in the "Golden Era"of NBAs' big men.

Russell and Wilt were like giants amongst men.

This. Hakeem is one of four players to ever ave a quad double (points, rebounds, assists, rebounds, and blocked shots).

He should have actually had two. He was not credited for an assist that he earned in another game that would have given him another. The league caught it but did not change it.

LOL, for real? I only caught Kobe as the main guy before I clicked the screen away on accident not thinking of it.

He was the most well-rounded center, but wasn't as dominant in areas as the others. You're right: depending on how you define "greatest", I think you can make an argument for any of them.

True. Russell wasn't known for being an offensive threat and was pretty much a third or fourth option. His bread and butter was grabbing boards and playing defense. Unfortunately, he played in a time when stats such as blocks and steals weren't tracked.

In terms of greatness, it truly is subjective and there really isn't a wrong answer. It would be great to see though how Chamberlain and Russell would do against the likes of Olajuwon, Robinson, Shaq, Ewing, Mourning and Mutumbo (I'm sure I missed a few). Although if Russell did play in this era, more than likely he would've played at the 4 since he is only 6'10.
