    Card Pack Prices/Structure

    @NWGAMEDAD

I am asking sincerely that you consider changing your pack prices and structure. I don't think you realize how many more people would buy packs if there was a guarantee of a card. I had planned to buy a few packs once star is dropped. But I can't imagine dropping a bunch of cash and not getting a star.

Personally I think all the packs are ridiculously over priced. Even the 50k RP one for very likely some UR cards. I can't imagine many people buying that one. Since I know the prices may not be lowered the best alternative would be to simply make the star a guarantee.

Maybe test it for awhile. I bet you make a bunch of money!

Packs are supposed to be luck, guaranteeing something takes away the luck in them. In addition, many people will easily be jumping straight up to star like with the guaranteed Christmas Legendary packs everyone in lower tiers bought. It's not healthy for the game, especially just after the release of the tier.

        Than lower the costs.

When the game first came out the packs were 3k and awarded the best cards. You can't raise the prices because you introduce new tiers.

The old cards are no longer worth the price you keep them set at. 3k should be the most expensive pack.

They did this last year and finished with a pack that cost $400. Yup. You could get credits from ah tho but that just shows the extremes they'll go through. Also that pack gave you a single mj so you needed to buy a second for the dupe.

In the console version when new cards are released the packs aren't subsequently doubled in price. When new better cards are released the price of old irrelevant cards need to be lowered to match their hierarchy in the games ecosystem.

If you're increasing the price by 5/6ths the previous tier you better be doubling the odds for a top tier card as well.

The packs as they stand are a complete rip off. $60 for a not very good chance at a competitive star. $20 with a good chance of getting nothing useful. If the luck is the issue, simply lowering the cost of packs is useful. You have to remember most actions taken are not done w/the players enjoyment of the game in mind. They are business decisions, purely. A good business decision would be to fix the pack cost or structure.

People buy the packs; they're not going to lower them.

I read today that someone spent 20k credits on packs and got nothing out of them.

That's, what, 200 bucks? lol... enough for groceries for half a month.

To be honest it's pretty crappy that 200 bucks can get you absolutely nothing of worth in this game.

Don't forget the leg packs have only been altered to give a star as the last card. At first you had a chance at getting 2 of the highest tiers. So not only did they raise prices, they changed the structure to be even worse.

This is a completely overlooked point, I hadn't even considered it. Definitely leaving a bad taste.

What do you mean? Each card in every pack says "__ to ST" for me, so if that is true you could pull 3-4 Stars in 1 pack (if you had god-like luck)

hmm, you are right. I stand corrected? Or they just changed it. I swear it only showed the last card as L-ST.

It would also be cool if they had a pack that guaranteed a wild card, but we know that won't happen.

I understand you may disagree with the pricing, but let's get the facts correct on the prices. With the Star tier release we did not increase the price of *any* of the packs. We upgraded all of them to drop higher tier cards, and the ones that used to drop Legendary cards now drop Star cards. We did add two new packs for 5000 Credits for the Hall of Fame and All-Star cards which have a higher chance of dropping Star cards than the other packs, but all of the packs that existed before did not get an increase in price.

We purposely did that this year to prevent the price escalations we had to do last year on packs. Last year it had to be done because of the AH and the fact we had only one currency. This year the two currency model allowed us to keep pack prices the same between tiers.

It would be nice if you would state the odds of pulling each rarity in the pack descriptions, because without reading this post I would assume the odds of pulling a Star Card are the same in a Record Setter pack as in a HOF/All Star pack. The wording is exactly the same in all packs so it's misleading for the odds to be different.

People are just getting very upset with your card packs because many of us have bought several and received NOTHING of worth. Why am I spending money on a game and getting absolutely nothing back in return? Frustrating.
