Not only did they wait they announced it 1 hour in after everyone dropped 48k rp on a large HS pack. Most people are probably like me where if you drop that much rp on HS, you can't not finish the event. Sad that I feel this way but...I'm glad I'm retiring after this year.

Yep. I had already dropped my 48k too. I'm not a completely free player as I do spend money on GNs for RTTC but all of CDs moves this year have basically been big F yous to free players. It was already hard enough for free players to compete and they continue to make it harder. There's absolutely no good reason why they couldn't have AT LEAST made Greats part of season rewards so that free players have a chance (however small it may be) to still obtain them. Seasons and events are pointless now because Great cards are stronger than everything except BTC PO cards. The problem there is that there are only 3 PO BTC cards per month. Atleast with the other cards that aren't available to free players in any form (TBT and Rookie Star), there were only 3 of each at the PO level. For Greats, there are 40+ added to the pool.

I don't subscribe to the notion that just because you pay you should have access to stuff that people that don't pay shouldn't. I feel like paying should allow you to achieve something faster but those that don't pay should still be able to achieve it too. I may be in the minority with that thought tho.

Remember though, most games (on console, pc, etc.) you have to buy. You have to pay just to PLAY the game at all. This game is free to PLAY, not necessarily to WIN. I do agree that CD doesn't seem to care about the free players, but why would they? The only thing free players are there for is to get other players to pay to be better than the free players. Of course CD will cater to the paying players, that's how they make money as they are a business. All in all this is a pretty fun/addicting game, but I won't spend any money on it because I don't care that much to "win" all the time. If you don't want to spend money, just accept the fact that you will not be better than people who do.

This is my biggest issue. I KNOW CD knew that they were going to release Greats packs this week but they wait until AFTER RTTC starts to announce it. There's a Magic Johnson Greats card. They could have easily made it the RTTC card so that free players would have a means of getting him.

So underhanded how they did this

I added up my 2 spec untrained Drexler POTG card and it was over 300 pts stronger than no spec RttC Magic (forgot how much specs added to compare a 4 spec Magic).

The timing really screwed those go-getters who buy all the GNs to get the RttC card in the first few days. Why spend credits on the RttC when you can save up for the stronger POTG packs?

Honestly I'm with you but it looks like plenty of people thought the packs were worth it. Lol. Check some of the previous comments. Guess it's all relative, value is in the eye of the beholder.

Why do people go to fine restaurants? Why are people spending thousands of dollars on a bottle of wine? They are all gonna be digested. It's all about the utility generated, which varies with people's preferences.

Seems like this debate gets rehashed every few months and I'm not going to debate it. It's really not about "winning" or even about the money because what I suggested doesn't impact their bottom line. It's about how shady CD goes about their business tactics and then try to play dumb about it. I'm completely fine with knowing that I will never have the top of the top, best of the best cards in this game but I will call out BS when I see it.
