Does the DDR3 Ram matter? This is the only card i saw with 2gb. Does it really matter that much?

Not sure how much it matters about the RAM. But I will say that DDR5 is the new standard. So you really aren't getting any more speed out of DDR2, even with the extra gig of slower RAM. 1GB of DDR5 is just as fast, or faster. Your clock speed, your amount of rendering threads and processing cores is what is a better guage of card performance.

Another thing to consider is where your card lies in the new ATI card classifications. A 70 series card is higher up the chain in performance than a 50. So, technically, a 5770 is better than a 6750. The card companies make it really hard to tell what's what. That's why I look at the card online and google it, looking up reviews on the card. The final conclusions section normally breaks down what the card really is and isn't.... Tom's Hardware is really, really good....

        Oops it is DDR5

I'll check out Tom's hardware. I use to go there about 10 years ago.

I changed my settings to this:

I'm in the market for a new video card

With these settings 2k ran like hell.

BF3 was actually ok in a 64 person server.

              25 FPS of hell..

I made your suggested changes and yet again it goes back to hitching and shuttering.

The thing I dont get is how does BF3 run so well?

I'm getting rid of this card. I didn't have to do none of this with my old card.
I'm not even sure how much that had to do with the card. It seems that the game tries to look for something online which causes the little stutter every few minutes. But after I go into the game now I just go to the online section, enter a random date of birth under 13 years old, it tells me I'm too young to play online and then I'm back at the home screen and can play to my hearts content with no more stutter.

Previous to that I had more of an issue than a little stutter. The game just played like crap. Forcing just AA to 8x in CCC did the trick.

Now since the online thing and new drivers and I don't even have to play around in CCC anymore.

What videocard do you have? Also If others could provide there video cards as well (specifically if they're ATI/AMD) that would be helpful.

                      AMD HD 6950

I use to have the GTX 260 which was buttery smooth for NBA.

                      Exhibit A:

See how it jumps when panning camera? Also bringing the ball up the court shutters a bit.

@Dtownballa Yep - Definitely the same issues I'm having. I guess I can wait until the patch though, because the card runs rage and bf3 pretty well on high settings. It's a shame this card struggles with a game that it should have no problem (and then some).

Have you tried playing the game windowed? I have no idea why it works but when I play windowed, all the graphical hitches go away. It's super annoying to see the window bar and part of my desktop, but I guess I'll take what I can get.
