The mods not only can improve your models, but you can mod codings to the gameplay if needed. There are endless opportunities to the PC version of ANY game imo

I'm in the same boat you're in shadio. In two days I'm headed over to Best Buy to pick up the necessary graphics card, processor and power supply upgrade to run 2K12/13 at or near max settings, and I'm super excited. All this because I stumbled upon that modding thread and it blew my mind a few days ago. I already have the wireless 360 pad receiver for PC on the way, picked up 2K12 for $9.99, and extra HDMI cable the video card will require.

I was very surprised at how easy it was to install the mods. It seems to be a matter of dl'ing then simply pasting modded files into the appropriate folder (after making backups of course). With my current horrible integrated gfx card full games are barely playable on anything but the lowest settings, but just to check it out, I installed that Ultimate Base Roster and it's just insane. INSANE. I have spent hrs just freestyle practicing with all the diff teams (also because it's the only mode with decent FPS on Med/High, with just one player onscreen smh).

Like you though, I never play online at all, so the one deficiency is a nonfactor to me. And being that my 6th "red ring of death" 360 is still in the shop, I am seriously considering cancelling that preorder and just getting the PC version. Even if not, it's definitely the last year I even consider 2K for a console.

When I saw that guys were modding the actual gameplay and control responsiveness, that was the closer for me, BB card was on deck lol

To each his own. I had both versions of 2k12; and was dissapointed with the lack of support 2K gave the PC version. I just wish that the base support of both console and PC versions would be comparable. The 2k13 ALL-STAR DLC being on consoles, but not on PC is disappointing. And its 2012 its not too much to ask for a basketball game with playable online features on the PC. It comes down to Mods vs Support. And even though I do have gripes with 2K for their PC support, they did invariably release a very good game, but this was mostly in large part to the community.

And as someone who plays 2k on PC, i dont understand the sensitivity and defensive other pc players have when anybody extols the console version for being superior in some aspects. (Multiplayer is a big deal to a lot of people.) Aka starting a post where you quote a perfectly logical and rational post with lol.

So the online is really that bad on PC huh? Definitely is sad in 2012, even as someone who doesn't use it much.

I definitely see your point though, online is VERY important to a large % of players. I stopped going online a few years ago, but a few of my friends, whenever they are here, they immediately go right to Quick Match and play for hrs, everything on default. Lotta my college guys, that's all they do, just Quick Match all year. No Association, no My Player, no Season mode.

You're right it seems it's mods vs support/online, and for me the graphics just need to be at least as good as the systems, just as smooth, that's enough for me. It's the mods that to me are so cool. I'm just scrolling through this Ultimate Base Roster with my jaw on the floor, and there's so much more besides this. But rosters like this alone will make PC a no-brainer for me. It's just so cool to me.

I agree with most of what been said. My only negative about bna 2k on pc (me personally) is that there is far less rostermakers and its a jungle out there of different rosters saying "this is the best" and so on so its difficult to know which ones to choose.

Someone made the same exact thread above you -- http://www.operationsports.com/forum...d.php?t=580257

And yea, you can pick it up digitally the cheapest @ Amazon -- http://www.amazon.com/NBA-2K13-Xbox-360/dp/B007M6W38W

              Click PC Download.

Besides that, visit http://forums.nba-live.com or moddingway.com or even here @ OS to get updates on the newest mods and rosters/sliders.

It can be overwhelming so the very first thing I suggest doing when you download the game is to backup your 2k13 folder...So that you can easily start over if you don't like a certain mod.

You shouldn't run into any problems downloading it from Amazon or Steam, even living in Europe. If you run into problems downloading it, I will have no problem buying your copy and you paying me back through paypal or something.

And yes, all versions are fully modable.

Very important for piece of mind and esp for ease of moving between different mods.

You know, when I first saw these mods I thought, 'Man these are so awesome there's no way it's easily accessible for PC noobs like me, it must require all sorts of coding/tweaks.' I was pleasantly surprised to find how simple it is to install them. Even getting the right machine together to run it, was made easy by the great community here.

I think this right here is the most important thing to learn. Backing up that original file....is there a tutorial thats shows us how to do this?? just askin

Nothing special. Just find the NBA2k13 folder(before you install any mods) right click -- "copy" then paste it into another folder on your computer or throw it on a flash drive. So if/when you need to start clean, you can just paste it over the existing NBA2k13 folder.

@shakedowncapo: so i ran into trouble already...amazon told me that i cant buy this game from EU...so the question now is: if you buy it for me: will i be able to download it later? or is there a preoder on steam already?

miraiii, there's a well known workaround with which you can buy games from Amazon DD even if you're outside the US. Otherwise, you can wait for the Steam release, which will be on Tuesday as well. No preorder there, though.

shakedowncapo and shadio5, meet my little friend, JSGME. Use it and you'll never have to backup another file or game folder.
