I'm about to get a Toshiba Satellite S855D-S5148 Laptop :

Specs: AMD A-Series Quad-Core A10-4600M 2.3 GHz
8 GB DIMM RAM
1 TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive

Would this be enough to play NBA 2K13 at the maximum settings?

Probably not at max settings. The GPU on that is not the best.

I recently purchase a Samsung Series 7. At max settings, I'm getting about 45-50 frames per sec on 2K13.

He'll be ok on the APU. I played it on the same apu, steady 35+FPS everything on Max. You can check on youtube, should be able to find how it performs on some of the more recent titles. It's not a "great", but a lot of it will depend on the screen resolution, etc.

You can see the APU playing Crysis 2 on High at lower screen res. Should be fine max settings on 720p, and most likely 1080p if that laptop has it.

Defaults Skyrim to High. 2k13 is much easier to run than Skyrim.

Furthermore, the max screen res for that laptop is 1366 x 768 pixels, unless you custom ordered it with something more? You'll be perfectly fine at that resolution.

I'm currently running on a 680M

That APU isn't a "slug" like most integrated cards you think about. The APU's are MUCH better than intels integrated offerings. It won't net you the kind of performance that you get on the Samsung Series 7, or my GT60-403US from MSI. Do you have a 675m in it?

The 7 I have comes with the 650M. Is it 'easy' to upgrade? Although I am really happy with it right now.

EDIT: That model 7 you are referring to is a beauty though. I nabbed the one I got for $ 1,000...if I found that for a bit cheaper than what it is, I would have gone for it. It is not carried at most places though.

I got mine through GenTech PC. Ken hooked me up BIG Time. They were offering a $100 instant rebate for Valentines Day, $100 Manufacturer rebate, 3% cash discount, and a little more off. Out the door, a little less than $1500. I am more than happy with it. I'm waiting on my $139 256 Crucial M4 SSD to get here from UPS right now, after that, I'll be content for a while, lol.

The 650M is no slouch, with Kepler stays cool and performs really well. I'm not sure about the upgradeability of the Samsung Notebooks. I've been an MSi mainstay here lately. Really like their products.

Good deal, no doubt. You're right, the 650M is fine, and is running everything I am throwing at it, at the moment. I do need to research the upgrade-ability of Samsung though, for future reference.

How do I get the Mod to show up? I always thought it was as easy as placing in the folder and overwriting the previous?

I haven't tried much, just the the TNT scorebox, but it doesn't show up.

2k decided to make updating your scoreboard a little harder this year for Steam players. You're going to have to use Keep My Mod, or force NBA2k not to connect to servers.

I'm new to modding and installing jersey mods. Can anyone help me out?

What are the numbers for classic teams for jerseys? Like for the Nuggets, it's uh019, but what's the number for the 97-98 Utah Jazz?

Also what is the exact script for the Nuggets christmas jersey? Can't find it. (UY019?)

I downloaded the ujp jersey patches and tried to change the 96 seattle supersonics home and away jerseys by replacing the ua024.iff and uh024.iff files with the ones that came in the jersey pack. However, they're not showing up at all. I know that the jersey patches are the ones in the 2k13 folder. So could it be a conflict with one of the other mods? Any help would be appreciated.

Figured out the problem: The files were named to replace the OKC jerseys, not the '96 Sonics'. All is well.
