I love the interface of gregkwaste's tool much better than vlad's. All it needs now is the import feature and it's golden, not to mention free.

Vlad got hired by 2K. For the community's sake, I hope he releases the source code since he can no longer work on his tools.

Truth be told, and I may be in the minority, but I feel like in general he sold out. To get this far as a community and then take the money and just black out on us idk part of it just feels like a sell out. That's my opinion and that's just how I feel.

Yeah I'm waiting for the classic rosters to come out and if they don't i'll just pass and go back to 14 until they do. It's really all just the same with slightly better graphics. I just enjoy playing with the old teams more since my Lakers suck at the moment lol. Of course 2k hired him because they don't want him to create the perfect game because that would hurt sales of the next ones.

                  I saw that earlier.

Can you tell me what this means though?

How does it compare to Vlad's usual tool?

Is it just a matter of time now before the mods start coming out?

I've never used Vlad's tool, but basically, the ability to import textures has been added to Greg's tool so yeah, it's just a matter of time before we see (texture) mods. BTW, even if you're not a modder, if you want to use mods you're going to have to learn to use this tool (or Vlad's).

You're gonna have to learn how to import since the file structure is different than in years past. Sorry man.

What code? You just import the texture into the iff and the iff back into the big file.
It's basically the same system with an added step since all the separate iff files are now all in one big file, for example I believe cyberfaces are in one and all team art is in another.

All we did was download a file unzip then drag the files into the 2k folder.

What extra step beyond this is needed?

Sorry if I don't get it but it doesn't sound like you guys are saying the same thing are you?

All the pics I've seen of the referred tool seems nothing like an extra step

The individual files we used to drag and drop have now been condensed into larger files that we can't access manually. These tools are used to explore these new, larger files so we can get to the individual files that can be modded.

So, the extra step is that instead of just simply dropping the downloaded files into the NBA2K folder like in years past, we now need use one of these tools to find and replace the proper files.
