2k fans are quick to hate..

but i think you are all missing the GREAT thing about these videos.

someone stated it looks easy as hell to score.. GREAT

in '05 every team played defense like the Detriot Pistons/San Antonio Spurs and it was a JOKE.

it looks like this year bad defensive teams will be just that...

i mean face it guys the Sonic and Suns ARE BAD defenses. the Sonics D is bad.. and the Suns defense is horrendous.

also i liked the new animations, looks mad fun. isnt Fun what counts? hmmm.

It all depends on your definition of fun.

Im not a fan of one particular game. I just love bball. I am the one who took out considerable time to find the most realistic playsets for Live 04 and played it to death.

I have Live 05 also, and this looks like a minor upgrade. Same funny looking player models with midget arms and huge heads, and the difference i see fom 05 to 06 are a few animations such as wrap around passes a runner jumpshot, and Danny Fortson running the break (which hardly existed in 05).

If the game looked like something I wanted, I'd praise EA for making the effort, and I'd spend my money on it. I dont want a game that plays just like NBA Live 05 with gimmick passes. I've seen enough trash to warrant keeping my money, from Raymond Felton doing dunk contest tomahawks, Andrew Bogut looking like Steve Nash in a Bucks uniform, and this streetball gameplay that we just saw.

For your information...I'm a basketball fan...not a 2k fan...I respect 2k more than EA yes, because they put more effort into their titles every year. And even sold their titles cheaper last year and still made better games. I can respect a company like that. Instead of re-releasing rehash with minor additions and charging everyone another $50, as you can that EA is about to do again.

I bought Live 2005 and 2k5, because I like basketball...I played more all-star weekend on Live and I played my franchise on 2k5. I played College Hoops 2k5 and well March Madness got no love..I loved MM05 presentation, even D.Vitale got on my nerves..but the glitch on roster edits made me give it up.

Like I said I'm a sports fan..I usually buy both. But this year. EA won't get me to spend another $50 on a rehash game with $hitty and outdated graphics and animations. Too arcadish and funny looking. I spent $18 on Madden 06 because some dude tried to trade it in at EB games 2 days after launch..and guess what..its collecting dust on my shelf. NCAA 06 is still getting alot of play...So I'm not a 2k or a EA fan...but when improvements are made the games get more respect. I respect NCAA I dislike madden...I'm respecting the changes to 2k6 nba..and Live 2006 gets nothing..

Nothing Fun about coughing up $50 for a washed up game....instead of $30 on a revamped improvement..ala 2k6

I dont know guys. I didnt think it was that bad considering it was CPU vs. Human. A human player that got maybe 3 hours of total play before hand to play this game. Add in difficulty and it doesnt seem that bad.

              Blocks looked fixed.

all I need are real playsets and im set... fastbreaks looked fixed and blocks do too. Ill hope for the best.

we've also seen a screenshot of the rockets and them having a rocket "fuel" (i think thats the name) play which is geared for T-mac.

I can get past the slidering/skating if all other aspects are alright...

Player models dont really bothter me at all. im all about the gameplay in that regard

Seattle was being controlled by the user, that's why Ridnour also kept doing playmaker passes for no reason, that was not the CPU doing all that nonsense. You can't blame the game for the user deciding to play on easy, do playmaker passes for no reason, and run the floor with Fortson.

I'm still looking forward to 2k videos though, with Rob Jones there, I expect it to be the better game.

Live 2006 just looks like '03 '04 and '05 with those same animations, same bad court lighting, and small players. I had no problem with it back then, but when the gameplay doesn't look any different, the bad graphics become even more noticable.

Likewise. Live is looking less and less like a real NBA game every year. It's turning into a Globetrotters sim.

                      Agreed. Looks terrible IMO.

Not a single screen play yet again...what is it with the "super glue" CPU PG defenders who can guard a guy, running backwards ...all the way up court...only to then slide like 2 meters away from him...as he shoots.

Players cross over and step back for three every year in this series...can't someone ever just come off a screen and catch and shoot?

In fact, has anyone EVER come off a screen and just simply 'catched and shoot' in NBA LIVE?

                      A fundamental basketball basic...

The engine needs a complete overhaul. Thankfully, EA recognise this. It's just a pity we'll need to buy an XB360 to play LIVE as it should be...

Dunno about the 360 version. Nothing has confirmed that 'decent' looking nexgen video was what the game will be and even if it is, who's to say it's not gonna be the same game in a new shiny package?

Because if you go as far back as Live 95 on Genesis, believe it or not, you can still see some stuff that exists in Live as we know it today.

EA have said the XB360 version has been built entirely from the 'ground up'.

                          New game completely apparently.

Realistically, common sense should dictate that has to be the case.

They have some great aspects in the game...but have had an engine / game pace / player models / sliding / bumping / etc etc that's nothing like NBA ball for a long time now.

Why? They have said that once or twice in this generation and yet even 2005 did more than just resemble the old games, even as far back as 99.

I think common sense tells us EA are not aiming to make an NBA sim, rather a fun playable highlight reel.

Given that the line I've heard most often in conjunction with NHL 2006 is "NHL 94 is BACK!!" I'd hazard to say I agree.

Across the board in all of its games, EA seeks general accessibility, not hard-core sim. There are more people who are interested in basketball casually than guys who like to rip apart a defense with proper ball rotation and offensive spacing while running killer sets

I liked Live 2005, but more because it was a laid back run when I didn't want to go full bore in NBA 2K5 or College hoops. For me it was like a run with the boys back home or closer to a higher end version of NBA Jam in a lot of ways. Doesn't look like much has changed, so I'll give it a rental and see where they are at with the franchise

                              Have fun............

                                Those vids are ridiculous!

Steve Nash is like Ben Wallace on the boards. Did he just make a tip in?

How many behind the back passes have I seen already? 5, 6? In the NBA you will see maybe 2 in a game.

This game looks more like Iceskating than NBA basketball. Players just float around.

The court looks sweet but those player models are horrendous. They are worse than MVP baseball with those massive heads and feet and tiny arms.

Steve Kerr doesn't do it for me. Hes pretty stale and way too general: "he is a big man who can take it outside for this team" etc. Marv Albert gave an injury report on Amare and Kerr was like "he got the easy shot just couldnt make it".

This game seems way too easy to score. It looks like street ball out there. Seriously I think EA should leave the NBA scene alltogether and make a Streetball game.
