DID LIVE 06 "BOMB OUT" AGAIN ?

After playing both games last 2 days, I honestly feel Live 06 is not as good as 2K6. I have been a Live fan for over a decade so it really saddens me to not see a better product by the great EA SPORTS

Don't get me wrong, the game is a lot better than before, but after giving 2K6 a try there is no doubt that it is Superior to Live 06.

I am hoping the GREAT PLAYMAKER the slider genious can bring me back to Live 06, I think sliders by PM must be given a shot before I totally abandon 06 for good this B-Ball season.

Tjis is just my opinion up to this point, so I will play more and wait for sliders to make my final personal judgement.

im buying 2k6 for 360....i for one made the right choice on getting Live due to 2k6 missing key players on the Lakers roster. I hope PM makes sliders for Live.

I've been playing them both also...and don't see a clear cut winner in any way. the learning curve on 2k6 leaves a lot to be desired. Live feels like it needs slider adjustments only to me..

Last year the bugs killed 2K5 for me bigtime even though everything else about the game was great. Live 2005 was also pretty good but was missing that special something.

Since you have played both, is Live 06 like a more refined Live 2005? I take it that 2K6 has a steep learning curve.

I dont mean to interrupt here but I have been playing alot of NBA Live 2006 these past few days and must say, it is less entertaining the more I play it. It is definitely better than last year but I have to say it is still missing something. It just doesnt feel like a real basketball game or should I say...sim. It still has that arcade/ NBA Jam roots hidden somwhere underneath in its gameplay engine. It's hard to put my finger on what is bothering me about the game. I dont really know, but it doesnt feel intense. It's sometimes hard for me to finish simple 6 min quarters without becoming uninterested in the outcome...I never feel this way when playing an NBA 2K5 or NBA 2K4 game in the past. The Live series keeps getting better each year, but it somehow still fails to really grab your attention and make you say, "WOW....this is an intense video game of basketball"

I'm definetly making sliders. I have to not only create sliders but also they are built around each teams playbook so that's why I can't just post them right away. I have to actually work on playbooks and build them around the top players on each team.

The playbooks and sliders have to be used combined together if you really want Live to have a true SIM feeling. The reason why is because the playbooks keep every teams top 2-3 players into the action and it allows the CPU to run more halfcourt sets and move the ball to set those guy's up in position to hurt the human player if they aren't on their game.

Once you see how the plays work it makes Live so much better. For instance you can assign Houston a set play that has only T-Mac and Yao working the weakside of the court in a two man game. T-Mac has three options in this play setup Yao low, Attack off the dribble on his own or dribble penatrate and then kickout to James or Sura who will spot up for a 3 pointer. I've seen him use all three options in game and he's very smart in his decision making. Steve Nash also does this very well.

might want to check the raptors roster. It's horribly done. How Matt Bonner is not on the team is a joke.

Might want to look in the Roster portion of NBA 2K and download the one that FF dropped for us. It's almost a joke that ya'll guys don't look. Plus, I'm sure if he's in the game, you're pretty much able to assign him to a team right?? Right!!

I agree 100%. If you can pick a game up out of the box and dominate, where's the depth? I got Live on Monday night and enjoyed it for the most part (always been a HUGE live fan), but it still felt arcady/jumpy to me. I got 2k6 this morning, expecting a decent game @ best, and I've been blown the hell away since. Yea there is a learning curve, because you teach yourself to play more authentic ball. Plus the franchise options are great. I love planning practices, and playing the drills 2k has to develop a player.

I loved live 05, but not enough has been done to make Live 06 truly worth a new purchase. I'll play it now and then for the heck of it, down the road, but that's it.

I don't understand how you guys can say you loved 05 but 06 is not that much of a different game. I must have got a different copy because my game is nothing like 05.
