This is exactly what I've been saying. I said this knowing what it took to bring the game to the "next level" on the current gen xbox or PC. Meaning..extensive playtesting, slider adjustments, playset adjustments, etc. Looking very promising as expected..

HMcCoy, I'm glad you're giving the game another shot. At first, I totally disregarded the game as even a mere rental. But the more I thought about, and read about specific venues, player specifics, etc. the more I wanted to play it. Then, when I read a few good impressions for actual legit sources, it made me go ahead and make the leap. For only $37, I definately don't regret it. It's actually a whole lot of fun. I went back and played 2K6 for the first time in a week or so last night... the venues are what makes Live so special in my eyes. Everything is just so immersing.Twitter - WTF_OS

And to make it worse, even the most objective of us can't help to see a game with "colored glasses"...either rose colored, or doo doo brown colored. I rented Live, and based off the general concensus, I pretty much went into it thinking the game was gonna be crap, and didn't look for the redeeming qualities, and thats exactly what I got out of my experience. Thats why I hate when reviewers trash games without digging past the surface.
Now that guys whos judgement I trust implicitely have dug a bit deeper, I'm actually a little hyped to rent it again...
Despite being a multi-billion dollar industry and arguably the majority of the consumers being adults, video games are still thought of by many as a hobbie for the kiddies. Because of this, and the anonymity provided by the internet, reviewers can give inaccurate, incomplete, and insular reviews with impunity. It must rule to work in a field with practically no accountability.
I know its just wishfull thinking, but if a site can't commit the same time, enthusiasm, and attention to detail to a sports game that they would to a Halo or GTA, then they should probably shouldn't bother reviewing the game. They're really doing a diservice to fans of that genre.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment
