    BREAKING NEWS

    I Played a full game 5 on 5 with Broadcast camera for the first time ever. It appears that you get less close ups and less camera lagging if you drop the speed to 45 and set the camera at 10-Height and about 5-6 Zoom.

    It didn't interupt my game that much at all......

      I played the best 2 games on Live that Ive played using the 9 qtr. 45-50 game speed however if I wouldnt have missed literally like 20-25 free throws I would have blown the CPU out...does anyone else feel like they it might be too easy to beat the CPU if you just make all your free throws.. I mean I missed 25 free throws and lost by 2 points and this is on superstar default

      also I have plays set up like Playmakers said but the CPU tends to want to raise up for 3 with their point guard and primary scorer a lot and will only run their offense every now and then and while the games I played were good games, it felt cheap to have the CPU hitting like 5-6 threes per player to stay competitive

      any ideas /comments

        I just played my last game for tonight. I'm not sure about the DEFAULT setup on Super Star.

        Are you using the sliders that were tweaked by me or playing with the base setup that is listed right out the box?

        I went down to 45 speed and control the PG on defense that helps me to stop the CPU PG from attacking the basket whic is always what he will look to do first before running the offense.

        On the Plays I'm guessing you did remove the original Quick Plays and made them the bottom 3 plays while you assigned the top 3 plays as the CPU 's actual playbook. If so I'm not sure why they aren't running them because I see them pass and cut all the time. They will take quick shots aswell so hopefully your assigning Medium and High Pressure defense.

        Just as a test game set you speed to 45 then go play a game vs Philadelphia and setup everything (Playbooks and Tendencies) like I listed and see how they play. I'm curious because the Sixers is the team I just played and they moved the ball around pretty good vs me. I also used the Broadcast camera all game for the first time ever.

        As for FT's you might want to lower it all the way down to like 25 until you get the hang of it.

          man, it doesn't get more sim than that! in the nba, on any given night, teams win and lose at the charity stripe. i guess if you want to get as close to a real NBA experience as possible and keep the games from becoming cakewalks, you could tweak the sliders; (i.e. decrease the foul frequency slider or the in air frequency slider,). this would lower the # of times you shoot fouls, but would also increase the hacking and bog down gameplay,too. i was just thinking about free throw difficulty and the way EA mapped the control of it to the right analog stick-- IMO it makes it more enjoyable: its not too easy and at times it's intense. i remember more than a couple of games where i was at the line and got nervous because the game was tight, and blew the free throws and lost. i have never had such an experience playing a bball video game. it reminds me of when i played in school. in fact, my buddy and i have probably lost 4-6 games in season mode w/the Bobcats just because of missed free throws by us w/our CAPS. to me, that's realism. i realize that this game is far from perfect, but it's not bad.

            I agree pistonpete. The FreeThrows in this game are excellent. The feeling you get in your stomach when you go to the Line, and the crowd is booing you, is insane. But the feeling that you get, when you go to the Line, the crowd is booing you, but you sink it and quiet the crowd... priceless.

            This game isn't perfect, but it is a really good game indeed.

              I made the move to SG last night and loved it, but im going to have to try the new speed idea with 5/5. Also, with shooting free throws, I hit up once the ball reaches my players head/face and im getting good success.

                I got a chance to play with the speed set lower. I put it at 48 and stayed with the broadcast camera. I have to give kudos to the poster who pointed this out (Piston) I believe was his name. Since I was already at 60 for game play it didn't take me long to adjust. I don't care for the fatigue factor in my games so I went all the way down to 35 so it wouldn't effect players speed much at all. I do my own sub's and set the CPU to 85 and it ran smooth. It allowed me to go from 8 minute quarters to 11 (I like extended play) and the shots still stayed pretty good mostly in the mid 80's for me and the CPU. Thanks for sharing this information with those who are wanting to make the game as SIM oriented as possible
