Well it seems to depend on the definition of sim to people. To me it's something that is successful in creating an accecptable amount of realism in the game and to not have something that is overly unrealistic. So I know 2K7 isn't and at least with the dunk contest Live isn't though I have my doubts about the main part of the game too.

I've thought for years that some of EA games were extremelly arcadey and didn't play very realistic in terms of the sport they were copying. But I must admit since I first started using playmakers sliders for Madden 06 he's brought a nice touch of realism into games like Live 06, NCAA 07, Madden 07, MLB 06 and even NHL 07 for me. I really enjoyed the results his sliders produced on all those games. They might not appear very realistic at first to most people but I'm sold now that those games can play with solid realistic results when I use his sliders. I will be purchasing my second hockey game this week in NHL 07 simply because playmakers sliders has showed me it can play a form of real NHL Hockey for me.
