Game is built to play 12 Minutes

I've tried everything and this year EA has built the games to from the actual scores to the sub's to being based on 12 minute qtr's.

Sounds crazy but it's true. The lower the QTR's the less the scores will be and the less sub's you'll get in the game. I upped the game speed and still the scores were low. It didn't effect subs much at all either. They will sub but not like they will at 12 minutes.

It seems like the game was built to be played using 12 minutes.

So, that seems extreme but anything less and your scores will be in the low 70-80's all the time. Even with speed at 100 unless you get a team like Phoenix to play against your not going to see many 100 point games.

That's what I have observed so far and I've tried everything to get the scores up.

playmakers....how come your a Mavs fan when you live in the Valley of the SUNS? I have been able to find the ps2 version in Scottsdale as of yet and darn blockbusters dont have either game yet. Are you satisfied with live? I enjoyed 2k6 better than live06 so im a little hesitant to buy either one. Go Suns baby!

Well I wasn't born in Arizona.....

But I've been a Mavs fan since the days of Mark Aguirre, Rolando Blackman and D. Harper.

I look forward to going to see them beat down the Suns once again this year even with Amare back.....

PM--I swear I was just going to post this in the impression threads. I haven't played 12 minutes yet, but the games at 5 minutes pro-rate stat wise to 12 well. It seems the pacing is there. I have fooled around with game speed a little, but do you think default might do it for 12 minute qtrs? I will be playing later on tonight. I will report some results. If you want me to test some settings, PM me with them.

Yeah any input would be helpful. I've messed around with all the speed settings and I just can't the scores higher unless it's 12 minutes.

I don't think it really depends on speed at all it's mainly the way EA set the game up. I honestly think they did the DEFAULT settings as far as pace and everything to give 12 minutes stats. But the DEFAULT speed seems kinda slow to me and then to others it seems kinda fast.

I guess what is happening is that at the Default speed of 50 when the players do get tired the game starts to drag. They probably are moving fast when you first start the game but when fatigue sets in everything slows down to a crawl unless the sub's come in to give the players a breather. Well the problem with that is no body has probably even played 12 minute QTR's so there for no sub's are replacing the tired starters because most of us are using 6-8 minutes at the most.

I just recently went up to 10 minutes thinking it would pick up the scores but it didn't. Then I said maybe it's the speed so I bumped up the speed and still the scores were low. So, I'm going to test play few more 12 minute games and see what happens.

The closest I've gotten to 100 is 91 I did that earlier tonight. Most of my games have been in in the 80's range. I figured someone would post this sooner or later. I have average at most 22 pts per quarter on 8 min quarters. I have managed to score 24 in one quarter. but that's the most. I'll be cool simming 12 min quarters. But playing them is crazy!

Yeah I know I played the Suns they couldn't even reach 100 points on 10 Minute Qtr's.

I'm testing 12 Minutes just to see if that's correct but I'm not going to play 12minute qtr's. I just want to see if that is the case as to why the scores are so low.

I know EA wanted to tone alot of stuff down but damn they have toned too much stuff down. The QTR Minutes seem to dictate the pace of a game more so than the game speed slider itself.

Well I played my 3rd game and it's pretty much a fact the only way your going to get 100 points consitently this year is to play 12 minutes.

I'm only creating sliders for 10 Minutes so don't expect any high scoring games using them unless you bump up the minutes and I'm sure very few people will be playing 12 minutes.

Maybe 11 gets you close but 12 seems like the most consistent setting. If you want your stats equal to league then simming games might be your best option this year. It doesn't matter what speed you use it won't get you 100 points consistently unless you do something like Fast Break all game or make the CPU fastbreak all game with you........

They did sub in and out more but I'm not going to play 12 minutes just for that. I'll just increase the Fatigue Effect Slider a little higher and take those results.

Yeah man I did that already.

You were right the game is set up at DEFAULT to play 12 minutes. The speed and everything was balanced for 12 minute play.

But it takes way too long (IMO). I did see them sub and foul pretty realistic in the game. Which brings me to another point when I play less minutes there isn't enough fouls. I jacked up the foul sliders to 65 and still there wasn't that many fouls.

I don't want to go crazy at put everything at 100 just to get 20 FT's a game.....
