Re: New Quickstrike Video
Here's the deal.
Live has improved. I think the majority of people that hate the game see that.
However, we don't have any information on 2k. Live is exciting right now because they are showing us things that either should have already been in the franchise or have made it better. 2k has a good history of matching Live's new features and most of the time making them better.
I wouldn't be surprised if 2k comes with a better improved post-game, a smoother isomotion, more signature moves (not just shots), and improved player tendencies that take percentages on the court into consideration.
All of that is being offered in Live and 2k has already built some of the foundation on those features.
With that, I won't put Live on ignore. I'm happy for the series. It looks like it's headed in the right direction and that's always a plus. It's good to know that there can be two solid basketball games this winter."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: New Quickstrike Video
I agree, this new quickstrike system looks like it might be pretty good. However, I don't really see what the big deal is with the dunk at the end. It's not like he did a windmill or something. Granted it wasn't realistic in that he didn't have a lot of runway, but this is Baron Davis. You do remember him throwing down on Kirilenko in the playoffs, right? While he did have runway on that, I'm merely just pointing out that this dunk wasn't that unrealistic. I've seen Ginobili dunk on ppl after just 2 steps, in traffic. Either way, I'm looking forward to trying out this year's Live.My NBA Teams:
1) Blazers
2) Spurs
3) HawksComment

Re: New Quickstrike Video
looking at the videos, it just does not have that level of quality that should be expected after years and years of basketball games. Especially when you compare it to other sports games that have already come out. This is the thing about Live, it does not FLOW!Comment

Re: New Quickstrike Video
of course.. look, I don't hate Live or wish it bad.. I just can't understand how a big company like EA hasn't been able to make\create a great basketball game for a few years now..it's frustrating..believe me, I would like to have two great b-ball games going head to head each yearNBAComment

Re: New Quickstrike Video
So is there any details on the movements assigned to the different stick motions? I wonder how those stick motions carry over to the big men too. Very interesting conversation in here of course. On thing that does need to be said is the fact that this Live looks like it should have been competing last year against 2K7. There are some solid things added in that game on the real. I honestly just think that they are a little behind. They did start from scratch again, but it's because they didn't have a veiw of what they wanted. Only thing that's very interesting is the fact that 2K went the whole summer without even a redone 2K7 screenshot seen as a 2k8 screen. Weird. I'd definitely love to know if Live will have more videos out soon.Comment
