I am feelin the point that Live is more user controlled and not at all mo capped so the AI takes over(I appreciate that as well about the demo), but one thing I am not feelin about the Live demo are the ridiculously absurd animations that the big men go into when they are going up for layups and close shots in the paint...I mean they just sail at weird angles and release the ball in ways that you just never see (except by the uncoordinated goofball playing pickup at your local 24 Hour Fitness/ YMCA/ playground/ etc)...the only thing is, that the uncoordinated fat kid never makes his shots, but in Live these awkward shots seem to go in quite a bit...

Its just odd- I will grab an O Reb with Z Iggy, then go up and as I shoot, I think "This is going in," and then he does some corkscrew side shot flip and I think "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" and then it is nothing but net and I do end up scoring...I dunno, thats too much roller coaster'ish emotional instabiliy for me I think

exactly.

Both games won't be perfect. Find what is important to you and make the best choice. I know it's hard to believe especially at Operation Sports but some people like NBA Live better. Go figure..

Personally? I feel that NBA Live 08 has the biggest bang for the buck...

It has an arena where you can play with you favorite Basketball star then it has all the modes of current gen back then it has the ORIGINAL all star weekend and dunk competitions...

And then it's just SUCH as improvement over NBA Live 07 that it warrants a purchase this year.

feels worse than last year, when last year it felt new...

Even at the nba-live.com there is a division. Several years ago, that place was hard core NBA Live.

Yes you are able to put dribbling on the RS. if you configure the controller this way, the RS can still be used as shot stick but youll have to hold down LT to shoot with it

I kinda like Live's off the ball player movement. They seem to work at putting themselves in position to receive your pass.

that is one of the biggest things for me. that's why I could never really get into 2k games because I never felt like I had control of what the cyber player was doing or what i wanted it to do 100% of the time.

In the 2K games u have alot more total control IMO. U can pick what kind of dunk and layups the players do.

Then i will not give 2k8 a try. i don't wanna buy the game just to "tryout' the diff config. just to be dissapppointed

Might be the case but unfortunelately the way it unfolds is very unrewarding in 2k8 in 2k7 it was diff.

I was definately going to get NBA 2k8 only(depending on what gamers were saying about the final product, game reviews etc..) but then I heard some good things about the Live demo(used to be a Live guy a couple of years ago but switched to 2K for 06). So I was somewhat on the fence about it until I remembered Madden 08 on the 360, and I just can't give EA anymore of my money so it will be 2K8 for me....
