Oh and footplanting???...Don't even try it player the 2k8 demo features decreased skating...I wouldn't even attempt to call that footplanting because the technology behind=d 2k's old tired engine will not allow next gen physics...You can't have next gen physics or visuals when you continue to port from an old gen console.

and this comes from someone who enjoys Live's horrible ball physics??

I'm saying to even make the assertion that either one is more sim than the other is stupid...Its almopst like everytime one of you dudes make that assertion your doing it to convivnce yourselves that 2k is a better game because the highly anointed sim players play 2k...Gimme a break...LIVE ballers play every bit as sim and/or arcade as 2k players do.

The games will play the way the user wants them to play...In fact LIVES biggest issues last year had very little to do with basketball AI and everything to do with Framerate and animations...THose very basic things that catch the eye were way off...So if you didn't get past that you would never know that the actual gameplay on the court after those issues was pretty good...But like many I couldn't get past the choppy framerate and ******** animations.

I never said LIVE was without fault but some of you cats go off the deep end trying to make 2k seem like it was far better than what it is...Its merely a good game...Nothing special and definitely nothing next gen. 2k today is the same 2k that it was on xbox...wack physics, slippin and skatin all over the floor and the same crazy looking crowds that dazzled us all on NFL2k5...And lets not even talk about the graphics because they just aren't worth talking about.

Bro..I'm a gamer..I play whatever game and I don't blindly suypport a console or developer...I've been a 2k consumer and avid player of that game since 2000 and since 2005 I've lost interest in playing the same game...Right now based on the demo's LIVE is the better experience...emphasis on "me"...Thats doesn't make it a better game...Just a better game for what I'm looking for in any sports game I buy...BTW...I play sim all day long

2) I think what many 2k players, including myself, cannot understand is why someone who wants/plays a sim style of game, choose to play Live when it clearly lacks the nuances of the NBA that are so prevalent in the 2k series.That's not a dig, just stating why some of us feel the way we do

3) I DO like the Live demo and will probably buy it later down the road, but it feels much more like of a sim of pick-up games at the Y than it does the NBA...very loose,fun but lacking the feel of the pro game

2k is way too stiff to have the feel of the pro game as well.

There is no such thing as a sim basketball game neither live or 2k is sim. Its the player that makes the game. You cant sit here and tell me that the top 20 in 2k7 played sim ball because they didn't.

Excellent point! :wink: But just let them think 2K is sim and Live is arcade, it's easier to digest in these forums. Complex thinking like yours is not tolerated here! LOL!

I hated playing 2K7 online, it was a cheese and whine festival that took away from the game. But then again, every video game can be exposed. Those usually at the top of those list have found them sooner than others.

Because people are still playing 2k7? Can people still say the same for Live...?

Not everyone browses the board as much as others... they know if they put their thoughts in there it will get read by the developers, one way or another.

Up until recently you couldn't say that for certainty with Live.

C'mon guy... This is a crock. Live was running off of a "new engine" in '06 and '07. You're telling me they had "next gen" physics.

I honestly believe some people post these things over and over and actually start to believe them after a while. It's ridiculous.

Just because some people think the "competition" is a better game doesn't mean it should take the luster off of the improvements Live has made this year. To expect them to turn it around and release the "greatest b-ball game ever" is a bit out of touch.

Not on the next gen engine. The foot planting system has worked well to eliminate that.

Their main issue now is how players just get "pushed out of the way" on animations near the basket.
