Well have you tried it? I think EA finally came through on something. It's great fun, and I know that when it comes out for 360, it will attract way more people than the PS3 version. But the mode is sick!

Yes I've played LIVE extensively and lost interest in the game prior to OTP...I just don't see OTP being that big a deal because it will be impossible to find 10 people to play the game properly. Its a decent GIMMICK...But it won't appeal to the masses...Particularly when the core ame still has so many deficiencies.

EA's response to their own game deficiencies is allowing the user to control the virtual player instead of just making the proper programming fixes...OTP, Run to Daylight (Madden) are nothing more than EA looking to place band aids over a mortally wounded game. EA gives a BASIC feature like OTP a snazzy name, markets it and we forget the fact that their games are garbage...Oh and let me repeat..I own and play both Madden and Live so I'm not just baggin on EA because I'm a ***** or fanboy...I just want to see better products from them. The last decent game they made was MVP 05

OTP will be a revolution to b-ball games if they do the proper things to take OTP to the next level. Alot of things been fixed in Live 08 and from what I see they are listening to us now and we the consumers can help them and thats why 2k has been better.

No, I mean have you played OTP? Because I have both systems, and have been up the last week or so playing until about 6 in the morning! It truly is an amazing feature!! And will have loads of people playing it! And while I still cant endorse EA's customer services, I give credit where it's due and they did a great job on this new mode!

Not sure for sure but I don't think there is a pick button for Live this year.

No you cant, OTP this year is just the core because EA is trying to see how people like it, 09 will be the year they take it to another level.

I wouldn't say that is why there is no "pick" button. We aren't waiting to see the response of the feature before we add to it, it was simply a timing issue. We think that even though it is bare, it is still fun. With more time, we'll be able to add alot of things to this feature in the future.

I don't see it catching on personally. Given how much people complain about playing ONE person and accusations of cheese, bad play, etc., how would this work with ten people? Eventually I guess you could get to the point where it's like a virtual pickup game with NBA superstars, but it'd be damn near impossible to get a coherent game w/10 random people. It's one thing if you're face to face w/someone on a real court and can expect people to mostly behave because you're in close proximity - but on the internet? There are just too many immature gamers out there that would get a laugh out of ruining games w/o much threat of retribution

Its a great feature. Its already on FiFa 08 and i think that NBA2k8 and Fifa 08 were the two best games of '07.

I've written this on one of the many NBA 2k8 wishlists in addition to the 5 on 5 features - make it a similar to a RPG, where you make your own player, and have to develop his skills through experience. The more I crash the board, the better offensive rebounder I'll be. Tryout for a team, negotiate contracts, etc. This can seriously have potential to turn into a sports MMORPG.

Unfortunately, I think it's more realistic that EA goes down that path than 2k just because of the mass resources they have. So what you'll end up with is a great online environment with a sh**ty gameplay engine.

Not sure if you play online RPG's but I'm sure it will follow a similar course in that you only team up with people that you know are at your level and know how to play. Pick up games won't be very popular at all with 5-on-5.

I've always wanted a MMOSG (Massively Multiplayer Online Sports Game!) because iv'e tried WoW and that ish is boring to me but I like the idea of leveling up and whatnot.
