Re: Steph....any word on a new roster update ??
Steph, I get what you're saying....."The development team is working on 09 as soon as 08 is released"...Thats all well and great... But that can't be used as an excuse to write the game off for the rest of the year, especially when Madden is getting updates and patches frequently. I expect their development team is working on Madden 09 as soon as 08 was released too. In addition to that, I'm sure the 2K development team is working on their next release too...But the difference is that Madden and 2K have been giving updates and patches, whereas Live seems to have been forgotten about.
It's a good game out of the box. But one person updated the rosters and tweaked the sliders and made it an even better game. That shouldn't be a consumers responsibility to do. It should be the best game possible, "out of the box". It just bothers me that you sit here and tell us 09 is being worked on right now which basically leaves no time for 08 to be paid attention to, meanwhile Madden got more patches/roster updates within the first month of it's release, than I've seen in all of the next generation Live series since the 360 came out. That's unacceptable.
Anyway, I'd love to continue this discussion....but I'm off to New Orleans guys.
Look for my live updates on nbalive08.com

Re: Steph....any word on a new roster update ??
As far as player lock is concerned you may as well not be here. I have written half a dozen questions about NBA Live's Player locking option, and I have not gotten one reply.
Did you know that the player lock in NBA Live 2008 is broken? If you have a player that plays multiple positions the player lock will sometimes cause you to switch players. When the player resumes his normal position you are still stuck at the 2nd position. The only way to fix it is to pause the game and go into the menu.
Did you know that NBA Live 06 for Gamecube and PS2 had working player locks, yet the 2008 versions of both titles don't? I read some where that it was a space issue. Speaking of space...
Did you know that the Gamecube version of NBA 2006 had a full dynasty mode and create a player all on a tiny 1.5 gb disc? The Wii Version doesn't have either on a 4.7 gb DVD. What is up with that? Seriously, what is up with that?
We like having you here. It gives us hope. It makes us feel that somehow someway, maybe the next version of Live will be better than the last. The problem is that we don't know what you realistically can do, or what you honestly can not do. Please, help us understand your position with EA so we can stop badgering you with unrealistic ideas and expectations.
Anyway, the answer to your question lies here in the previous post:

Re: Steph....any word on a new roster update ??
You can talk about resources all day if you want, but that doesn't make it right. I paid just as much for Live 08 as I did for Madden 08. Maybe if consumers could rely on up to date rosters and patches to potentially fix problems, consumers would be more inclined to buy the game. Then the development team would be inclined to use some "resources" on this game. I think the Live series has gotten maybe 4 or 5 (estimate) roster updates combined for all three years it's been available on next generation consoles. Whatever the number is, it's a really poor effort on behalf of EA. But like a lot of other people, I continue to buy the series, hoping it will get back on track. In any event, I've gotten further into this discussion than I had wanted. Don't take any offense to what I've said, I'm just stating my opinion and not trying to be a jerk about it. Thanks for your help, and enjoy your stay in N.O..
Edit....You never did address my question as to why the Fiba teams were never updated, as we were promised before release. Can you explain the reason?Last edited by joel0078; 02-14-2008, 04:00 AM.Comment

Ah, you're not the only one getting fed up with this conversation. Speaking for MYSELF, I'd like to see you continuing to ask for our feedback and keep us updated on what's going on with 09. I'd also ask that you stop making excuses for the lack of attention Live 08 gets. I know you're inclined to "stick up" for the product, but you can't really believe that Live fans have gotten their moneys worth. Can you?

What I'm saying is the truth. If you'd like me to lie to you, let me know so I can save my breath from telling you guys the same thing over and over again. Story is not going to change guys, no matter how long I'm put on the stand (j/k). You guys are a tough crowd here, but the problem is that you guys know you are. What I'm telling you is not a lie, a marketing strategy, a pr strategy, a spin or anything else you want to call it. It's just not the answers you want to hear, so it's the wrong one.Last edited by stephensonmc; 02-15-2008, 03:31 PM.Follow me on twitter: www.twitter.com/stephensonmc

Re: Steph....any word on a new roster update ??
Sweet thanks Stephenson and EA Canada perfect timing for the new rosters! My only complaint is they didn't edit any ratings Brandon Roy's 3pt rating is still 11 also Anthony Parker has a very low 3pt rating as well other then that great update. The improved teams this update for those that play online look like Sacramento and Utah especially if you like shooting the 3 ball. Utah has Korver and Sacramento has Bibby off the IR.OREGON STATE BEAVERS 2007 COLLEGE WORLD SERIES CHAMPSComment

Re: Steph....any word on a new roster update ??
Hello,
Since yesterday the new roster file is online (on 360) and when I try to download the file this freeze my 360 and I have to restart the Xbox, what's going on ?
I'm from Belgium so it's a PAL version.
Thanks.Comment

Re: Steph....any word on a new roster update ??
now it really isn't that difficult, just take about 30 mins of your own time, and create them yourself.
maybe those players aren't important enough as star players to bother with. you want them so create them.
I did the same thing for quite a few players, at least once you create them they'll look right!

Don't take it personal. If we're a hard crowd to please, it's because EA has given fans of the series little to be happy about. And the fact the game doesn't get as much attention as is expected, is disapointing, to say the least. You're an EA rep who voluntarily comes here and asks for our feedback. Take the good with the bad. I'm done with this one.Comment
