Were there any new commentary? Also, has anyone brought up about rerecording new people? Steve Kerr is now a GM and does not broadcast anymore so maybe they should update it a bit.

If you have a chance, you should bring it up to them. They have ESPN. Have them get Mike Breen,Jeff Van Gundy, Marc Jackson

Having the ESPN license does not mean they have access to their broadcasters exclusively. Just look at TNT and how 2k has their announcers.

I did not notice any new commentary because there were so many of us talking about the game. What was there didn't detract from the game, so that is always a good thing.

Much more. Without a doubt. Even in its incomplete stage, the game was much more enjoyable than any Live title I can remember.

The game was flat out fun. Most of the community day reps. preferred 2k8 last year but came away with the overall impression that they could spend a good amount of time with this game. You didn't sacrifice too many sim-elements while playing and you could have a good time with it. Remember, we were all going head to head.

The offense/defense one on one game was so well done it was a game within a game.. you were involved on both sides of the court.

Considering how stale I thought Live '08 was, that alone should speak volumes on how this game is shaping up.

1) Is the lighting changed? Is it like Laker stadium where the crowd is dark and the court is lit up or is it better where it is all lit up?

2) Are players calves fixed. They were tiny last year.

Pared what's your thoughts on the overall graphics, compared to last year? ie; player models, arena lighting etc.

Also are the animations as a whole 'closer' if not on par with what we saw in NBA2K8, from a fluid and more realistic 'looking' standpoint?

Lighting is definitely changed. They really make the stadiums shine as you can really appreciate the models this year. Things aren't as dark in the crowd as they were before.

Player calves are certainly fixed! I was complaining about this last year and Brian confirmed that they were increased (after I noticed it and someone said I was imagining things ). Really makes a big difference in the player models of bigger guys like Turiaf and so forth.

The lighting makes a huge difference on the game. The game looks very "pretty" this year. Colors popped well on the screen in all the stadiums as opposed to the subdued dull graphics of last year.

Animations are immensely improved. Like I mentioned earlier, much of the motion capture this year seems to have been done with multiple individuals, as opposed to individual movements and added together.

The fact that there are animations after the play really bring the game alive; Something Live has needed for a while now. They are much closer to 2k8 but I would suspect 2k is going to build upon last year once again. Still, Live actually has player mannerisms after a good shot, emotion and other animations that bring the game much more to life. I would like to see more, but that is what next year is for.

PS3 version is all I want too know about, will they have any sixaxis moves on the post like nba 08 and is it a competent version. Do they finally take advantage of blu ray I'm so f'ng tired of not taking advantage of the medium, do we get uncompressed audio, gigs upon gigs of audio ect...

I've heard some good things about nba 08 so I know whats possible.

1. How did the fast breaks run?
2. How were the collisions?
3. How was the "looseness" of the ball? Was it super magnetized, like 2k7, loose like Winning Eleven? Somewhere in between?
4. Any branching animations? Can you compare to NCAA Football or Homestreet?
5. You say the passing is improved. Any details about the passing controls?
6. How do you think this stacks up to CHoops 2k8?
7. How was help defense?
8. How was charging/blocking?(not just the calls, but the interacion)
9. Can you give any insight into the "little things"? (e.g. in 2k8 players running into refs, or hopping over cameramen, crowd getting snacks etc)

We were not exposed to the PS3 version, sadly. I made sure to point out some things that should make the titles equally on par. Soccer team was pretty much on par from the get go, the football team is now on par and their basketball team still isn't up to snuff? They canceled the first title, made a crappy port of the 2nd and still no 3rd.

Pared did they give any indication of when the demo would be available?

And did they give you any indication of what completion % the build you played was?

After E3 I'm 'assuming' these guys have about a month or so to finish the game, with the MS/Sony certification approval process taking about 6-7 weeks to complete before release.
