Re: Signature Playcalling Interview and Video
I've already been excited for this game. I absolutely love the court spacing and player movement. Seems like there will be plenty of room to make plays. I also really think that they are gonna implement sig play calling nicely, but a couple of things bothered me in the video.
1) Some floaty, questionable passes. Look at that pass that Parker makes at :26. Very lazy, and I'm not sure thats the right pass for that situation.
2)Defenders seem very soft in the paint. I know the difficulty level is probably on the lowest setting, and Kobe's "forcefield" is better than most players, but he got to the lane and dunked w/ 3 players around without much trouble at all.
Still, even with that said, its good to see that Live looks like a viable option once again. Looking forward to more previews.Last edited by the_future420; 08-13-2008, 11:34 PM.Comment

Re: Signature Playcalling Interview and Video
These vids are all user controlled.
I want to see if the CPU controlled teams, will be able to utilize each team's playbook effectively with signature playcalling.
I'll wait until some extensive CPU vs. Human vids are released before I make my decision on Live this year.
With that being said, the vids looked good and this game definately has my attention now.
BTW, Live's court spacing is unmatched and should be the standard for all basketball games. It's perfect, as seen in these vids.Comment

Re: Signature Playcalling Interview and Video
with the live 365 feature, why wait until october to release the game? i could be playing it now then wait for the updates when the season starts."Allen, did fatigue play a part in your loss tonight (in reference to the Sixers going down 3-1 to the Lakers)?"
The Answer: "Thats army clothes"Comment

Re: Signature Playcalling Interview and Video
I am happy and sad aboutthis at the same time.
I am happy because this looks like the first NBA Live game that I will have purchased in 4 years. I have liked 2k's game of bball ALOT more than EA's game..... but EA is definitely doing things to make their game more closely represent the NBA.
One of the biggest problems with 2k is the court spacing...or rather the proportion of distance on the court vs the size of the players. Even though the plays were great, it was hard to get any good shots because the players covered too much space on the floor.
This has been an issue but 2k did somany other things well (and Live was SOOO terrible and broken) that it was no comparison. No longer....
Live is shaping up to be a good game, and if they continue to build on the solid mechanics of last year could finally be able to go toe-to-toe with 2k.
Now why am I sad/angry.......
I can't help but look at how the strides EA has made with Live and wonder what Madden would be like this year if it had competition from 2k as well. We all know that the ONLY REASON Live has been making this overhaul ove rhte last few years is because 2k has forced them to do so. And rightfully so...... Now we are seeing some of the innovations 2k made appearing in Live's game. Just think of the things that would be in Madden now with 4 years of competition and ideas coming from BOTH companies.
Instead of being a fanboy, we can enjoy and appreciate both game for what they bring to the table.
Anyway, those are my two cents...Comment
