<jc> Yes, The only player who can do a substitution is the person who pauses the game. Each team has 2 pauses per quarter.

-What if a human controlled Kobe Bryant gets disconnected? Will Kobe be CPU controlled for the rest of the game still or can someone switch to him?

<jc> Kobe would be controlled by the CPU until the end of the game. Please remember that the clubs will reduce the disconnections significantly, since users will get to know each other.

-Are there ranked and unranked games/rooms for OTP.

<jc> Clubs and Clubs tryout are always ranked (and locked to a player), but we also have unranked OTP where players can choose the ANY position

Thanks for getting the substitutions answer. Thats ****ing bull****!! So whack that they didnt change that. So many people quit the game when its paused.

Chase, can you find out if they fixed a bug from last years OTP. There was a glitch where when the player inbounding the ball quit the game, the entire game would freeze. It was really annoying and some players would actually do this on purpose.

Sorry if this was brought up already but before you get your entire team into the game to play against the other team, can you talk amongst yourselves to plan strategy, assign roles, etc?

I'm pretty sure this is already confirmed. I could be getting it mixed up with NHL, but nearly positive you can do this already.

Some clarification on the playcalling and some other things as relates to OTP (hopefully Beluba or someone who can answer definitively will see this):

When Chase said that anyone can call a play, does that mean anyone who is handling the ball, or anyone at any time can call a play? Seems like it would just be the ball-handler, but I wanted to check on that.

Can you set screens for off-ball men too (to clear Rip Hamilton for a jumper for example), or is it just limited to setting picks for the ball-handler? The possibilities with a good sim team would be endless if you are able to do that...

Are the animations where they run to the hoop calling for the ball or pop out for a jumper (as happens in single player pick-and-roll control) activated by the user in OTP? So that they happen automatically depending on what you do after setting the pick? I.E. if you set the pick, make contact, and run strong to the hoop, will it be smooth like it is offline?

As far as Club games go, you're tied to a position, right? So if your player gets into foul trouble (let's say you're Pau Gasol playing PF) and the team moves Odom down to play your spot, what happens to the former Odom user's stats/ratings? Do they continue tracking the same stats for whoever is playing SF? So if he had 5/5 with Odom and then got 5/2 with Walton, he'd have 10 points and 7 rebounds showing at the end of the game when it grades the performance and it would take everything into account in the grade?

Sorry if that last question is confusing... it was an issue in Live 08 and it seems like it would be even more of an issue considering that stats are being tracked for the Clubs interface...

I would love to know how the rankings work. Say Im a point guard and I prefer to pass more than shoot. Do I get ranked below the point guards who go for 30pts ?

I hope its not all about scoring cause I like to play a jason kidd like point. Hopefuly playing good D and settting up your teammates counts just as much if not more than the gunning point guards. It should not be all about points.

Same as any other position. The players who do the diry work like rebounding/blocking shots but do not score as much should not get ranked lower than someone in the same position with more points but less rebounds/blocks.
