Yeh, I haven't open Live 09 yet either, cuz it's still at the store unpurchased! Bad jokes aside, after experiencing how not fun 2k9 is online, I need opinions from Live 09 players as to the online aspect of the game before I'll make a purchase. Please feel free to voice your opinions. Thanks.

Same here, just without the instruction manual part. And I hope you aren't reading while driving, cause it would be sad if you got into a wreck just because you needed to know how to throw an alley-oop LOL

NO YOU SHOULD JUST LEAVE IT IN THE BAG... lol what do you think?

Maybe after you open it, you should try PLAYING it.

Been playing the heck out of both demos and after being on the fence I'm finally going to go with Live. 2k just doesn't have the "open" feeling. The 2k court seems tight, it takes too long for guys to take jumpshots, and I love the playcalling of Live (especially the triangle button for a quick play).

Hope I'm making the right choice. How is this game online? is it a cheese-fest or can you actually win by taking open shots instead of just trying to pound the ball down low? Can you stop guys who just force the ball down low?

Thanks guys for the replies, including the negative replies.

So far so good! The game sure aint perfect but its fun and different enough for me to enjoy. I love all the features too, such as the 365 thing and the cool replay feature. The gameplay seems realistic in my opinion, even more so than 2k. I can do a lot more cartoony over the top crap in 2k it seems.

In my opinion the graphics look cleaner than 2k, really sharp looking graphics in Live. But there is a lot in live I don't like or I don't know how to execute yet. Like, how in the world do I hop step????? I'm not sure if I like the free-throw system either. Loading times are pretty bad, takes forever to get a new game started.

But overall I like it, don't love it but I like it.

Glad you like it bro. Welcome to ever growing Pro-Live club. I think one of the main reasons I like it so much this year, is it just feels easier to control than 2k. I love the quick strike stuff. I feel like I have so much more control over my guy than in 2k. The spacing is better, and not to mention the better looking courts, and players.

i got both, 2k9 and live today as part of the toys r us, buy2get1free deal and live has 'one' the battle handily.

i tweaked playmakers sliders to my own 12 minute version and scores are perfect.
                      and oh the court spacing!

I called in sick from work today so that I can play Live more and get the hang of it. It truly is getting better the more I play. My brother brought over 2k9 last night, whipped him in his own game, lol. 2k9 is really good too, just leaves a taste of boredom in my mouth.
