Damn this game is good.

So after flip flopping back and forth between NBA Live and the other game, I must say NBA Live is definitely the better game to me.

Yes the other game has tons of animations. (pretty sick ones too)... they have signature moves and dunks etc etc. All of that i want to be in live because live just plays a better game of hoop (for ME) this year.

I like the foot planting and momentum system, although i wish blocks were a bit better, and passing lane steals ... they definitely need new animations but i swear the game is pretty good, almost every move can be countered..

Im still getting used to the moves on the sticks, i keep getting sucked in to on ball defense when playing online then i get crossed pretty easy... Instead of making my guy fall when i get crossed he should just give ground a little bit.. the falling just happens way too often IMO

Physics during Academy definitely appear to be better then in game, I know there's a thread about that but i noticed ti too. I need to get better at rebounding but I feel like its just my skill level that needs to be tuned, I'm not constantly trying to stop the computer from doing something crazy on defense..although they definitely hit too many jump shots... but i don't have to quickly cover for my teammates for anything.

I played online and it was by far the best experience i ever had... Well one of the games. I played two and the second game the dude was running around with donyell marshall and Iguodala doing pick n roll and getting jumpers in their hot zone all game (basically made them all) and if i showed on the screen he would pass to the cutter for a dunk... or he would just quickly sprint past all my guys in transition with Iguodala and dunk pass to Brand for a dunk inside... (the star players are way too fast)

But 5 on 5 is freaking awesome, I cant wait to play with some OS people.

Anyway I'm just happy we have a choice on games this year, I'm happy live is going the more simulation based route, and i don't have to jump through hoops to get it to play a good game of ball

I LOVE the dribble mechanic a lot better then the other games and i hope it stays, unparalleled control and you can string together some SICK stuff..

I think some players are way too fast (especially when holding turbo) but i can live with that because i know my man stephonsonmc can take a look at that in the rosters

just had to share my thoughts

Totally agree on all points GSW

Im glad I dont play much online so I wont encounter the cheese players, but im curious how DNA will affect the game during the season and the games play. It looks to be real, which is something i was waiting to see.

BTW, I think the blocking thing will be changed in the patch

well the thing is, they wouldn't be allowed to cheese if they just gave people their correct speeds.

like iguodala shouldn't be as fast as monta ellis when hes holding turbo., and in the game he is, so he can just run around with turbo being held until he finds a seam then just hit square.

i know its an easy fix, and it would make the game a lot more fun/challenging online.

I played oen game though where the guy played realistic, i was the cavs and he was the bulls, he was trying to break me down with rose, but ben wallace and Z had the paint locked down, he probably coulda used Deng more, but i just gave rose space and i went up by 15... Then he adjusted on defense and went zone, and that almost toally shut my offense down, and he took the lead going in to the 4th..

i had to bring in boobie and put him at the 2 to break him out of that zone and as soon as that happened it was a wrap.

anyway.. like i was saying.. i just thing guys get TOO MUCH of a boost off turbo, it should be a QUICK little boost not a long lasting free flying up and down the court.

If we can at least for the time being just slow down the max turbo speed that would be GREAT

I only had one laggy game on live but it stopped lagging in the 2nd qtr... smooth as a babys bottom

My biggest problem with this game is the lack of CPU fastbreaks and the lack of interior D offline. I do not play online at all, it's all about the AI for me.

When you play the Warriors, Suns etc....they play half court ball just like the Spurs and Pistons.

If they can improve these issues with the patch, I can easily see myself playing season mode with Live this year.

Beluba/Steph, I know you said you will get the interior D addressed for next year and try to find something to minimze it's lack of effectiveness with the patch in the meantime.

However is the lack of cpu fastbreaks by running teams, on you guys radar for the patch also?

And do you anticipate the 365 updates to improve cpu fastbreaks for teams who should be running them more often?

The best part of live 09 by far is how the players run, cut & sprint to open spots on the floor for jumpshots. You dont have to "lead pass" the player to a spot. They actually now where to go and they go there with purpose. Love it.

I still dont get the point of playing more then one team in dynasty isn't the whole point of building a dynasty to make wht team you pick reach to the top. But if people like playing with more then one team then they should include it even though its a small % of people.
