i agree with all of the previous post before, but as a reference to the replays in-game, i would like to see replays like in 2k9. that is what intrigued me more than anything in that game (the animations are a close second). I also think that live could be better with more camera angles like the ones that are seen on ABC, TNT, etc.

LOL , now thats a dumb argument but I'm sure you meant it to be that.
Ok for one thing the television was never designed for the torture videogames put them through. They just weren't designed with that in mind. Fortunately TV manufacturers are developing measures to combat what videogames AND network broadcasters seem to care less about and that is the preservation of your TV. Fortunately for me my TV is great at preventing that so I can use it at will without concern but not all TVs are created equal (Vizio).
But these sources should be more conscious of these things. Most network broadcasters have heard the outcry and have made significant changes to "bugs" they put on the screen but others have yet to make that responsible move.
But your comment about back in the days with atari gave me an idea I might be able to make some $$$ with. Sure they have been there since way back but remember also way back your parents telling you not to play long with it also. Some parents didn't let kids play at all for fear of the TV being messed up.

Re: What Live series does wrong and right!
The draft process definately needs to be totally redone and they should make the highest possible overall for a rookie capped at 82 and no more, tired of seeing 88 overall rookies that turn into 99 overalls after one year.Comment

Re: What Live series does wrong and right!
I can't wait for next year!
I made the jump from 2k9 this season, and was impressed. There were a couple things I can nitpick about, but I loved the overall game and "feel". I think it came really close this year, just a few various things held it back such as some weird animations and gliding issues, and biggest of all I wish there was better ball/rim physics where not everything was a swish, and I hated how the arc of the shot gave it away if it was a make or not. If they just fixed the ball arc issue alone, I would have been in basketball video game heaven, haha. And I love the look of the player models and stuff, but I didn't like how every player looked like they were hunched over in a way and moved the exact same. I think they can tweak it so every player moves more lifelike a bit. I also wish there was a better distinction between the good teams and bad teams. It always felt like I was playing against the CPU and the difficulty level they were programmed for....and not the actual team. For example, if I played against the Cavs or Celtics, I want it to feel more like a defensive game. And if I played against the Warriors, I would want it to be easier to score and the game have a much quicker pace.Last edited by pbz06; 05-19-2009, 06:26 AM.Comment

Re: What Live series does wrong and right!
First off I'll say i don't care about people in the stands, cheerleaders, sideline reporters or the guy in the stands trying to sale popcorns..
I first and formost only observe and care about the actual game play
Having said that I think Live does well in Audio, Graphics and the ability to allow us to edit shiiiiit although they should find away to incorporate the game with their College product because that way if EA doesn't want to include OLD SCHOOL LEGENDS players like Dr J, Barkley, Bird, Magic, Isiah and so many others in Live we could atleast create them in their College game and then transfer them over into Live by way of a draft class.
They still have issues with the TEAM STRATEGY, ANIMATIONS and AI even after 4 years of NEXT GEN developement. I seriously can't understand why the animations have yet to surpass the animations we saw back on PS2 or XBOX versions. This was the 1st year I actually stopped playing the game before the NBA ALL-Star game had even arrived.....
It made great strides no doubt but it still needed tons of work in the overall game play area IMO. If they get the game play to match their audio, graphics and editing options Live 10 or what ever they are calling it now would be the best B-Ball game to hit NEXT GEN even though it's been like 5 years now

Re: What Live series does wrong and right!
I love how no one on here at OS ever seems to mention all the strategic elements of basketball that these games are lacking.
Visuals, presentation, controls. I wish the talk was more about the game of basketball rather than a video game. But I guess that is the focus.
I still hold out for a game that represents the real NBA not so much in look but play.Comment
