    Pregame rituals

Reading the nba 2k10 preview today and saw some of the pregame rituals that they have and was wondering how many pregame rituals were put into live. For example they have the cavs taking picture and KG hitting his hand on the stantion and they even have KG and Paul Pierce screaming on the video board. Were all of these added to live?

it's safe to assume that both games wont have the same rituals other than the major ones but imo live doesn't have to match 2k stride for stride

The last thing I would want is live to match 2k stride for stride because that would make for the same thing and I don't want them to be the same game but having a variety of pregame rituals would keep them from getting old.

I ain't even worried about that. If they have them, cool. If not, don't mind since I always skip any cutscenes or whatever unless it's the first time I'm playing.

Man I hope they have that KG and Pierce screaming. That is the coolest pre game intro in the NBA. Every playoff game and every celtic game Ive gone to it gets me pumped.
I will always, always be a Jets fan. But trust me it hurts.

I'm not worried about it but it gets me pumped for the game and I just like seeing these pre game intro. Every time I see the cavs pre game intor and Lebron's chalk toss and than him getting hype it gets me hype and excited for the game.

Well, I don't like the Cavs photo thing, or the Shaq bowling thing. I think they're annoying.

What I notice is that both games just recreate this kind of stuff from the superstars. I wonder if we will see some pre-game action in a match between OKC vs Sacramento

                    True, lol.

I don't think Live can match 2k in terms of the pregame rituals, at least not this year. Obviously I may be wrong, but that's just what I think.

What I think is that when it comes to SIGNATURE stuff 2k will have an edge this year - be it shooting, free throws, pre-game rituals, contextual stuff.

Yup..simply because...this year live is rebuilding from scratch basically

yea when i read the 2k blog it do seem that they have alot of different pre game rituals. I hope live have a variety of different pre game rituals like 2k does b/c that means it wouldn't get boring and repetitive real fast and it's always good when there is a variety of things to look at. it just keeps it fresh

Well, IMO, I think Big Baby does the pre-game scream best

                              Re: Pregame rituals

I hate that 2K will have the Shaq bowling thing (which I can almost guarantee won't be done this season on the Cavs) and the Cavs photo thing (again, it was from last year and players are not likely to do the exact same thing again this season)... just like commentary about the Iverson to Denver trade, it makes the game seem dated when you see old stuff happening every game. And the rituals themselves are pretty cheesy, especailly being replicated in video game form. It's nice they're trying to get everything in, but some forward-thinking would be advisable.

Glad Live basically focused on the ones that they've been doing for years and are unlikely to stop any time soon (VC chin-up, LeBron/KG powder, etc.)...
