And the rituals themselves are pretty cheesy, especailly being replicated in video game form. It's nice they're trying to get everything in, but some forward-thinking would be advisable.

Glad Live basically focused on the ones that they've been doing for years and are unlikely to stop any time soon (VC chin-up, LeBron/KG powder, etc.)...
Geez, i know that live basically focused on those, but 2k has them too. but you cant criticize them for trying to add flair to their presentation which, lets be honest, is longly overdue since that horrible pre-game show from 2k9. even though it is kind-of cheesy, so what? at least its better than seeing Craig's face.
What do you get when a kid buys a bootleg Kobe Bryant Jersey in Dominican Republic in 2004?

Nah I just mean that it'll contribute to the dated feeling that sports games have almost immediately after release. Including a bunch of time-specific things just makes it tough to stay fresh... that's my only concern. I know they have the other more permanent ones that Live does as well, and that's great. I just cringe whenever I see/hear something from last season or earlier that isn't being done/talked-about anymore, and those will be added to the list shortly.

The more presentation and signature stuff the better, it's just kind of a pet peeve of mine to have old stuff in a new game.

Nah, I cant give Live that excuse. I would understand if they included it in past games and scrapped them to make new ones. They have never had signature stuff except for superstar shots. Its EA's fault for being way behind the curve on this stuff.

            Re: Pregame rituals

I have to agree with my man stumbleweed on this one. It may get old after a few times and to me Shaq may not even do the bowling thing with Cleveland. What happens if they don't get off to as hot of a start as last year? Will they still be doing the photo thing? No offence to 2K, but I'd just be happy with the normal pre-game rituals for signature players.

Beides, after the first time you watch them, theres no doubt in my mind whether it's 2k or Live they'll -(being the pre-game rituals) will be skiped to get to the actual game itself.

They worked on gameplay and rebuilt it. I'd expect that to be the main focus, not rituals. just nice that they have SOME.

exactly because as far as we kno those players may not do those rituals anymore.

It might be pointless to some but, EA just wants to bring more authenticity into the game. And I'm glad they made that decision.
