Yeah thats a good idea Stumble its something I would love to see in next years game would make guarding players a lot easier on the user.

Especially against guys like Lewis and Fisher who just pop shots in your face because they know you won't be able to get your hand up quick enough.

Re: NBA Live 10 Demo - Controls

Yeah putting your hand in their face or the other stances should definitely make you a little slow on your feet laterally if they try to drive on you, but it would be miles better than being totally lodged to the ground as is the case with RS-up stances in both games. And being able to affect the passes from the passer without totally giving up position trying play lanes would be better than trying to gamble on the receiving end, which is the most common way passes get broken up in games... it would also be easier to control where the ball goes on defense if you're trying to keep it out of Kobe's hands, etc. Would go a long way for OTP too... hopefully they'll use the RS for defense next year, because I think there's a lot of potential for that kind of control scheme.

Or yeah, instead of the defending the pass option, just bring back defensive strafing with left/right on RS where if you slide into position in time you can draw a charge without actually having to hold "draw charge" beforehand.. just a way to reward good position y'know?

It's seems like it's a contextual thing, I've had it come out a few times when I used the RS to crossover and the defender was guarding me extremely close.

Re: NBA Live 10 Demo - Controls

Pick and roll control is pretty sweet. As I understand it:

            1. Indicate who you want to set the pick using the L stick. The red arrow icon under your player lets you know who you're choosing.

            2. Hold B(or circle for PS3 users) to have that player set the screen.

            3. Tap RB to toggle whether you'd like that player to pop out for a jumper, or cut to the rim.

            4. Make your move around the screen.

            5. Release B(or circle) at your discretion, and the player will make the move you indicated with RB.

The timing of the release of the B button really adds depth to the mechanic. You can have him hold the screen while you pull up for a jumper, and you can have him wait until his man gives help before making the cut, or popping out. This results in a lot of open jumpers. With Pau in particular, this is a nice guessing game to play. Can't wait to see guys like Sheed, Bargniani and Okur with this mechanic.

Born I think this game is going to be a thing of beauty on offense once we can play on the baseline cam. There are so many things we are missing out on because of this broadcast cam.

We can't properly use anything whether its the dribble controls or freestyle passing in the demo imo. I have seen so many opportunites to score but I can't capitalize because of the angle.

If the team AI is improved in the final vers I think this can be one hell of a game.

Offensively, I think the game has a lot of great things going for it. The things that work well make it easy to overlook most of the issues.

Yes, the team AI....going to refrain from addressing it until the retail.

Lol damn I was hoping you would drop that knowledge but I understand how you don't want get to critical of a demo.

I'm interested in hearing yours and all the other bball heads thoughts once we can play the full version of both 2K and Live.

They should be some great reads we got a lot of great basketball minds on this board.

Once you start getting the hang of the different results from the pick and roll it does really open up the game, as well as some nifty freestyle passes. I've been dominating with the Magic and getting swept up as the Lakers since the demo dropped, but the pick and pop with Pau and some triangle O cleared that up.

One thing I love about the pick and roll is that you can utilize that Paul Pierce play where you have the PG set the screen and force a switch. Pietrus may pick Ron's pocket all day but Fish just gets a QB elbow to the jaw enroute to an and 1

I have 2K coming in the mail on release day but i'd be happy if LIVE proved me wrong and had the demo issues cleared up in the final version (along with a patch at the start of the season). I said it in another thread, but despite the great organic offense in Live 10, I see it getting hit hard by the reviewers for stuff that won't change until it's patched. How important the reviews are, I don't know.

Also: You can kinda do a half spin by using only the LS. You gotta be going a direction and then push the LS the opposite direction you're going and then quickly flick it back to the original direction. Im not sure if it's effective but it does kinda look like a half spin.
can some one plz help me with this spin buisness!! every time i try to a spin or do what you sed by going one way then the other i lose contol and get stripped every single time and this is the only thing that realy frustrates me in this game

if any1 else like me is having trouble beating superstar like me here are my 3 favourite and most effective plays (orlando magic):
                          1. with nelson call howard 5 or it might me howard down 5 and when the player cuts out to recieve the pass, pass it( if following original strategie this player will then pass the howard for the post up) if it is either lewis or carter shoot straight away since when they cut out they are wide open 90% of the time and sometimes even cut all the way to the point line which leaves you with a wide open 3. but sometimes you will get peatrish (thats my version of spelling it) and dont let him shoot since he likes to suck donkey balls on superstar.

                          2. call an isolation with nelson at the perimeter and then call over screen and his will usuually leave an open shot and sometimes even a line to the basket. (try and selcetd lewis and if u can do this set it to a pick and fade instead of roll and then dish it of to him if u dont have the open shot.

                          3. i find that nelson 15 or something like that is very very effective on everything apart from superstar but is stillt quite effective on superstar but you might have to take a jumper instead of a lay-up

                          4. this only has an 50% succses rate i find. get the ball to howard down low and they will almost always double him hopefully leaving a good shooter open and then dish it of to them for an easy two.( the hard part is actually passing it out with out it getting picked of

Hope this helps. if any1 else has some realy effective plays please tell me.

i thought they said you can hold the rebound button to box out and let go to jump? for the ps3 if you press triangle all you do is jump you dont box out.

The key is to find a man and position your player for the boxout, then the boxout animation will kick in or you can hit Y then release to rebound.

Found out how to go behind-the-back.

You have to gently push the LS so that you're activating the walking animation. Right when you get close to your defender, move the RS to your offball hand (basically what you do to crossover) and it should go behind-the-back. Sometimes it will work (you blow by your defender) and sometimes you'll get cut off. Love doing it with Mamba

                                Hope that helps
