Has anyone had a defensive 3 seconds called on them?
I don't think it's in the game........
In fact there are a few rules that the NBA game considers a violation in real life but they haven't made it into NBA Live after 4 years now on Next Gen.
It kinda sad because NHL 09 and MLB The Show makes you play by the rules if it's in the game for real.
You can't legally grab the ball in the cylinder, you can't step out of bounds, you can't go over someone's back and you can't leave your defender in the paint for 10 seconds.
You can't 100% consider your game a SIM if it doesn't abide by the same rules that sport in real life enforces upon it's players on the field, court or ice.
Maybe a patch resolves the situation but right now were not playing by the NBA rules and therfor the game should have been disabled for penalties completely.
If it's a bug then fine I apologize but if it's not a bug then why are we playing by different rules?
1. Blocks need to be easier and they need to jump towards the shooter a little more accurately.
2. If possible, somehow slightly "speed" up the off ball defense when guarding up a player. It just seems like when you're guarding the offensive player, your inputs are a less responsive to analog movement in comparison to the person on offense you're guarding. This only needs to be improved SLIGHTLY tho..too much and it would ruin the whole system i was assume.
Other then that...thats all really for me...i love everything else.
-Icon passing needs patching as there is a slight delay and the throw is always slow too. Needs to be at the speed of right stick passing.
-The players jump too high or are too big compared to everything else.
-Switch shoot to B
-Need a post up and block out button
-The right stick should let you lock down and strafe on defense
i hope you dont mean lockdown defense like 2k9..no do NOT do that...PLEASE dont do that ea...we want to control our defense...none of that auto D please.

Yeah, but it's more like 7 secs. If they are going to fix it, they also have to fix the teammate AI to recognize it. Right now dudes are eating s'mores and telling ghost stories in the paint.

When you consciously tap the button and players are not involved in an animation, the icon passing is quick. When players are on the move, I've seen them not respond to the icon passing at all. I'd prefer a poor pass to the delay, because when this occurs I'll release the L trigger, expecting a pass, but now I'm in off-ball control mode. So it seems like something needs to be tweaked here.

I don't know what you mean, but I'll piggyback this. It feels too easy to block a tall player's fadeaway jumper. That's the 2nd hardest shot to block besides the hook.

1. Blocks need to be easier and they need to jump towards the shooter a little more accurately.I get a good amount of blocks. i suspect the erratic jumping might have to do with the camera angle. Your player is likely out of position, and taking a poor jump as a result.

I push towards them, but my player hesitates, puts his hand up, then moves forward after. This leads to a lot of jumpers for the CPU, even though I know it's coming and have switched in time.
After spending more time with the game the only thing I really see as necessary to change is the athleticism/explosiveness/handles of some of the bigs. I haven't paid much attention to defensive 3 seconds but, it seems like it is an issue so if there's a way to fix it cool. If we have a free button or can push down on the right stick to post up that would be nice but, I can post up when I want to as is.
Man, this is the best single player basketball experience I've ever had. I've gotten the defense down now so I'm no longer getting torched off the dribble. Defense is actually a really fun chess match.
As long as stats and player substitution/rotations are on point I'm golden.
I can't wait to see how other teams perform. I'm looking forward seeing how the game changes when teams are forced to go to their benches.
Don't know if this is demo related, but someone else had the same problem so I'll mention it:
During some of the Post Up plays in the playbook, the AI will have very poor spacing. This isn't a problem across the board, and I'm only seeing it on the Post Ups. For the Lakers, Bynum will stand right next to Gasol, which I'm sure isn't the way the play is supposed to be run. He's also not doing anything, kind of looking lost, almost as if he wants to post up in the same spot.

I see this as well, when running the Gasol post up play.

To Beluba or any Live dev will this patch be coming out soon after release? I would hate for it to happen that way because I want to experience the full game before you guys make any changes.
I know I may be able to avoid downloading it but it would be nice if you guys wait a while before releasing it.
I'm sure some of our problems are probably just demo related. It seems like some people are kind of jumping the gun before playing the full game itself.
I want to be able to figure out all the nuances before I see a patch because sometimes that may fix a few of our problems.

The net is perfect, if you play ball or watch it there are times where the net hardly moves to the net being splashy..The Rim Net ball interaction is the best reproduction in a video game period.
