Re: NBA Live 10 Patch Request Thread

If there is a mismatch like R Lewis covering Fisher out on the wing, I'll take control of Jameer and go over and take over defensive responsibilities on Fisher.

When this happens it takes Lewis way too long to respond and get over to the man he's supposed to be guarding creating too much open space. Once I get to Fisher with Nelson, Lewis should needs to get his *** to his man quickly.

Can this be fixed in a patch?

I agree with this as well. Not having the RS dribbling relative to the camera angle is something I can eventually get used to (I won't use the sideline cameras when I get the final game anyway), but it would be nice if that was done for the final product for those that frequently use sideline-style cameras.

Is it possible to make the right stick dribblling camera relative??

Re: NBA Live 10 Patch Request Thread

I mentioned this problem in another thread, but I thought I would post it here since it may be something that can be partially addressed in a patch.

So far, shot blocking seems to be the area that needs the most work. EA - please attempt to fix this for the retail version or via patch (if that is not possible, it should be the top priority for Live 11). Obviously the shot blocking cannot be totally reworked via a patch, but maybe something can be done before launch or via patch than can at least improve it.

The shot blocking just feels very random and unwieldy. As of now, there appears to be no "intelligence" built into the blocking animations - all you can do is hit the button and hope your player performs a block animation that is good enough to contest the shot...unfortunately you often get a weird animation where your player jumps in the wrong direction, or just doensn't jump TOWARD the shooter at all. Many times the players will also block with the wrong hand - like if the shooter is to my right, my defender will swat with his left hand, which isn't even anywhere near the ball. If he had used his right hand, his hand would've lined up with the ball. When I attempt a block, it does not feel like my player has eyes or a brain, he just randomly jumps in unpredictable ways and doesn't look like he even knows where the shooter is. Shot blocking just needs to have more AI built into it so that when you press the block button, your player looks like he knows where the shooter is and at least jumps in the direction of the shooter - he should look like he's trying to get his hand as close to the ball as possible.

Since fixing the blocking would require new animations and some new control/physics, I see this more as an issue that wont' be fixed until Live 11, but if it's not too late, hopefully something can be done.

Alot of the things some of you guys are complaining about may be due to the lack of knowing what to do with the controls. Before complaining make sure you actually get a grasp on how to use the controls and to the best degree possible.
Now issues that i have with the game are (someone mentioned it earlier) but the clothing movement is a tad bit overexaggereted. I mean shorts don't jiggle like that especially when you're barely moving.
Another thing gamepla wise is the slow responsiveness it's just the demo so im sure it can be fixed but it gets annoying and the blocks need major improvements hoping they aren't this way in the final version

I've saw offensive fouls, even saw a off the ball offensive foul called on the CPU.

I'll be switching to to a behind the back camera too, so it isn't a deal breaker for me.

But it is my number one request.

I think it was back in the time of Live 05 and 2k5 I think they both had dribbles moves on the RS. 2K had the option to go relative whilst Live didn't. The difference in ease of use really stood out.

Also, sideline views are great when playing offline with mates... just another pitch for why relative would be great.

I think this would be an easy fix?

Would like to know if anyone else feels otherwise.
After a made basket I just hit the left trigger and the a button. Fisher will be waiting for the inbound pass anyways, now in transition that's realistic to me, sometimes I might be matched up on someone else depending on the transition, that's one way mismatches happen. It's not overly done to me. This is what makes the game stand out to me.

But I can understand you wanting it automatically switched.

Just saw an off the ball illegal screen. Once again, nice touch EAC!!!!!

Also, reach in steals don't come all that often in real life. I think it's duplicated rather well in this game as well. It's all about time. Not just rapid firing down on the steal button.

                          1. Blocks need to be easier and they need to jump towards the shooter a little more accurately.

                          2. If possible, somehow slightly "speed" up the off ball defense when guarding up a player. It just seems like when you're guarding the offensive player, your inputs are a less responsive to analog movement in comparison to the person on offense you're guarding. This only needs to be improved SLIGHTLY tho..too much and it would ruin the whole system i was assume.

Other then that...thats all really for me...i love everything else.
I agree and I think improving both those issues will help the block issue. If I am not in the exact position to get the block, I can't even contest the shot since my defender is not pointed directly at the shooter, resulting in an awkward blocking animation nowhere near the shooter. I have gotten plenty of blocks, but I was already in position. I think right now it is too hard to block from a helping position, especially with the slow blocking animations.

When trying to block towards the direction of a player, I can't do that because of the delay in moving my defender from a standstill. It seems that players move better with the ball in their hand than without. This may have to do with the default movement on defense being lateral at times. Try not to use turbo to get back on defense and watch some of the players do little sidesteps in some situations.

I'd like to see them patch the instant replay camera so it is smoother, especially when it is focused on the ball.

This is why I think the right stick should be to get into defensive position(meaning break down the knees and hands out)...strafe and engage guy with the ball.

I dont like how without it controls the way you move around the court.

when i first started playing the game i thought the speed of the fast break needed to be tweaked b/c i couldn't never create space w/ jameer from fisher but when i finally got one with vc he blew past artest so i guess it just depends on the player you are running against like marcus told me on twitter.

The only other thing that i would agree with after reading all the comments is the 3 in the key and the blocking. It could be tuned a lil more, but hopefully it is fixed before release.
