Biggest concern for PS3: Framerate. Hope it is fixed / will be fixed or is non-existent in the final version..

Other thing I would like to see fixed is posting up, really would love to have a button for that (same like last year, pressing the stick)...

Mike has already told us that he is working on this and so far he's trying to make it work by pressing in the right stick to post up.

There is a very strange magnetic animation on the pick and roll. The person defending the ball handler will suddenly stick to the screener, being sucked in from behind. This isn't a typical "contact" animation where you run into the screener. This is something pulling you back towards the screener, and the animation looks as if you're trying to get around the pick, but you are still in between the shooter and the man setting the pick.

When the AI tries to set a screen, I'll usually shift over or under it, depending on who I'm guarding. The AI player slides around, following my player. The sliding gets out of control when I get real space from the screener. The whole mechanic looks strange, and is sometimes an illegal screen that isn't called.

Not just that but when a guy is driving to the hoop is making a post move, the game often sucks your defender into a hustle animation and won't let you press the block button to attempt a block.

                Its all very simple...i think.

                1. Blocks need to be easier and they need to jump towards the shooter a little more accurately.

                2. If possible, somehow slightly "speed" up the off ball defense when guarding up a player. It just seems like when you're guarding the offensive player, your inputs are a less responsive to analog movement in comparison to the person on offense you're guarding. This only needs to be improved SLIGHTLY tho..too much and it would ruin the whole system i was assume.

Other then that...thats all really for me...i love everything else.

This needs to be patched if it hasn't been fixed in the final build -

When posting up (without having started your dribble yet), then switching to a face up, then posting up again, you won't be in the same position as you were before - you'll be travelling. You can do this back and forth - post up, face up, post up, face up, and you would have travelled quite a distance without even dribbling the ball.

Re: NBA Live 10 Patch Request Thread

Team AI needs a huge lift in this game they are literally no help at times.

My teammates AI need to be on the same level as the CPU. All of my blocks have come because I manually did it myself, this is cool but it shouldn't be this way.

If I get beat on the perimeter and D12 is behind me I should be less worried. In the demo I have seen way to many players just waltz to the basket. Its like theres no second line of defense for the user.

I can't count how many times a drive could have been prevented if the weakside defense would have just contested the shot. Instead their just worried about a kick out that never comes.

Another problem is when players switch assignments this is good until you want to switch back. Because they never do the AI is just determined to guard that player so I just have to give up.

Another area that needs improvement is shot contesting and pass lane defense by you guessed it the AI. Its like they are not active all on D. I have seen the same play run every time down and the AI never reacts to it.

Obvious passes in the paint are never picked off and players don't contest shots they know are coming. Most of the time on D the AI just follows players around but never disrupts the play.

Even the AI's Pick n Roll and on ball defense is terrible they just play matador D so when the CPU gets aggressive its almost a guaranteed blow by.

All of these problems are extremely annoying because the CPU defense never does things like this. They switch when needed and they provide help defense for each other.

So to sum up all this the AI makes basic actions like getting back on Def or following their checks as a play develops. But fail at actually defending shots Lol.

I can't see something like this getting through the full game but I felt like I needed to put it here anyway. If this aspect of the game has been cleaned up I can sleep easy knowing I got one great game coming on OCT 6 lol.

This is all just my opinion though I'm sure there are some people that may feel differently. But I know that I'm not the only one that is concerned about this.

Re: NBA Live 10 Patch Request Thread

After playing countless games I hope that whatever they patch is just minor because once I figured out how to play (defense in particular) this game is very, very good. I would hate it if they made any radical changes.

Once you learn how to defend on ball you rarely get beat off the dribble and you can still recover and put your hands up to make the offensive players shot more difficult. The game benefits you if you play better defense. If you're constantly getting beat your AI teammates are kinda worthless but when you're in good position and not swiping for steals or jumping to block every shot they play better. They'll get steals and deflections and blocks.

The only remaining gripes are really how athletic some of the bigs are. Nothing major but they could be toned down a bit. And I'd also like to see more offensive resets after offensive rebounds. The cpu goes right up after every offensive board.

This wouldn't be a problem if the teammate AI on the users squad was as good as the CPU's.

They go up because they know there is no resistance in the paint. If you as the user are put in the same situation you may be stripped, blocked, or fouled.

Your AI teammates almost never do those type of things, if they did I'm sure we would see more resets.

I've also noticed a strange pattern with players and loose balls. If the ball is deflected or knocked away, whoever recovers the ball will launch a quick shot no matter how many seconds are on the shot clock. It's like the CPU goes into panic mode and doesn't know what to do in that situation other then to shoot.

I'm not sure, but I think this plays into the players lack of awareness when things don't go according to plan. NBA Live seems to struggle in this area, even with the added hustle plays.

EDIT: Just to be clear, this only happens to the team who got the ball knocked away in the first place and managed to recover it.

How can there be a "patch request" thread when the (bleeping) game is not even out yet?

There is no way to tell what issues have been addressed from the demo to the final build of the game.

Talk about premature.....though I'm not surprised.

You have to kinda anticipate when you want to block a shot, because if you hit the block button when the opponent has started his shot/jump animation, you're too late. However, that might also depend on the block/jump ratings per player. I have no problems whatever to block a shot because I think I've figured out how to do it. I'm having quite a few blocks with e.g. Kobe.
