Re: Artest: How are you guys doing with him?
I'm had good success with him in the post/elbow area shooting fades, hitting corner and wing threes, and bulling to the basket now and then. Seems like he will power the shot up through defenders if you get a contact animation in the paint. It's not as good as Kobe, but I have had some sequences where I thought, "Wow, that was a Ron-Ron drive".. he jams his shoulder into the guy and lays it in with his off-hand.
But yeah, his handle is way underrated.. he gets stripped by Pietrus way too easily. Again, I hate that the handling TOs happen so often... it should just force you to pick up your dribble most of the time unless they actually get a hand on the ball.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Artest: How are you guys doing with him?
well after i got used to his playing style, i scored 23 points with him. he shot 10-19. i often created space by a crossover or two then shot it but i usually just set a pick with bynum and shoot fade aways. lol. it was really fun to play with him. i recommend it to everyone!
btw i played on superstar.Comment

Re: Artest: How are you guys doing with him?
I can take vince off the dribble w/ kobe and the first person i run into he will lose his dribble. That aggravates me cause i know kobe is a good ball handler and he wouldn't just lose the ball like that.
Its almost like everybody has low ball handling skills. I honestly think ea needs to tone down the amount of turnovers of losing the ball in the final version cause these are nba players and they have GREAT skillsComment

I hate the handling turnovers too and I mentioned that to marcus on his twitter and he told me don't force the drive in the paint but in actuality im not.

Really? No issue? Even when you're trying to post up, nudging the stick forward (and not posting up) and just lose the ball (this happens to me a lot with Ron, Gasol, and Lewis)? It's not all just driving from the 3PT line that causes these turnovers.. they just happen way too often when a picked up dribble should be the result 75% of the time.
The defender isn't even doing anything, they just stand in front of you and the contact is created and the ball flies out. If they were swiping or something or timed it correctly then yeah, but it just pops out, even with good ball-handlers.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Of course I got jumped on by a bunch of EA goggle wearing dudes telling me I'm "playing the game wrong".
Kobe dribbling off his foot like an 8 year old has nothing to do with how I'm playing the game.Comment

Re: Artest: How are you guys doing with him?
I mentioned this in the demo impressions thread. I had a complaint that there were no animations to force a ball handler to pick up their dribble and instead there's just excessive turnovers.

man i REALLY wish people would stop adding those types of things to thier comments, it really does nothing to help prove your point.
All it does is perpetuate a completly inaccurate sterotype.#SimnationComment

Re: Artest: How are you guys doing with him?
Personally i prefer the amount of precision you need when controlling your ball handler, and while, yes it could be tuned a little more, i dont mind that when you are "out of control" you will lose the ball or get it knocked away.
That has nothing to do with goggles, or Electronic Arts. I just prefer the control. and dont mind being punished for doing something foolish.#SimnationComment

Re: Artest: How are you guys doing with him?
Point 1: I believe that the size up move is a highlight, and mapping it to a button means that it can, possibly, become a factor on every play. Which is not good.
Point 2: I'm sure a lot of NBA players have great handles, but, again, you have to separate the good ones from the 'sometimes' good ones or you end up with Shaq crossing people over.

You're lying to yourself if you don't believe that it's true to some extent. I wasn't referring to you, if you thought that's what I meant.
It's a bit frustrating when you have a legitimate gripe about the game, one that can be addressed too, and you have a bunch of guys saying you're "playing wrong"? I'm not seeing any good signs of real help D in this game. It has nothing to do with how I'm playing.
The help defense in this game seems to be increased turnovers. Hopefully this can be fixed and we get some animations that force you to pick up your dribble, or bump you off your dribble without forcing you to turn it over every time.Comment

Stereotype? I don't think we can call it that.

I agree that it could use a bit of tuning... but like i said, personally i prefer the precision. and knowing i cant just bump my way too the basket without being penalized.
No doubt, the computer reacts waaay too quick to loose balls and theer should be a few more varied animations to make it look a bit more realistic. But the effect is not ALWAYS a turnover... and in all honesty shouldnt happen that often if you are playing basketball..Also There ARE instances where you can get the ball back or retain posession.
I am also not having an issue with the lp defense at all with this game, it is fairly realistic as far as penalizing you for over dribbling, or taking your dribble too far into the paint.
I am not going to tell you you dont know how to play, because I have never seen you play, and we all have different versions of how we see the game and think the game should be played.
I am just saying I am personally not having an issue, and understand the concept.#SimnationComment
