"If it ain't broke, DO NOT FIX IT..."

Why did EA change two of their features last year as far as control?

The pick and roll on the left trigger is WAY superior than the B button. Mostly because you can actually use the right stick to make moves while the screen is set.

And why again did they change from a two-button shot system to a one-button scheme? The two-button system guaranteed that a user would shoot the shot he wanted to shoot 100% of the time. No excuses. Now, we might shoot layups when we want a jump shot or vice versa.

And hell, on top of that, why did they insert the forced step-back on fadeaways on the move? A step-back BUTTON may have worked better... hmm? Good idea IMO...

I gotta say this is one thing that annoys me with Live.. they don't give new schemes time to evolve

          BUT

the 1 button shooting is not a problem at all, i actually feel like i have alot more options this year with the shooting.

Live had to do something cause they lost fans like me many years ago. Atleast now im willing to give live a rental this year.

              Shoot button = layup.
Shoot button + turbo = dunk.

Wow, that's really hard, and totally more confusing than having one button for dunk and one button for layup..

You're clutching now. The control scheme is fine and works well.

Ditto. ESPECIALLY the new one-button shooting. Hold turbo for dunks, ease up for layups, everything else is smooth as butter. I'm so glad tey finally made the change, the double shooting buttons is one thing I couldn't stand.

Honestly, the one change I DON'T love as much but am getting used to (and both games did this) is the removal os the back-down button. Like I said though, I'm getting used to that and it seems to be working fine for me in the demo now.

After playing the Live 10 demo and starting to learn the controls....I want nothing to do with Live 09's control scheme.

Way off base here, Ray. First off, with the left stick cross overs and size up crossovers, you can dance all you want behind a screen. The pick and roll in Live 10 is a beautiful thing, and the controls for it work jut fine.

2nd, the current use of the Left Trigger is the best in basketball gaming. It's worthy sacrifice.

I think the step back system is brilliant. It puts more power into the left stick movement. You should have no problem differentiating fades from step backs once you master it, but it is a reliable system once you get control of it.

2 button shooting was silly. Glad it's gone.

                          You still have a choice.

Move toward the basket as you press the shoot button and you perform a layup (with turbo pressed you perform a dunk...or can try to depending on the player's ability and space).

Release the left stick and you shoot a jumper.

I think that makes a whole lot of sense. If you're moving to the basket, why would you expect your player to pull up for a jumper? Release the left stick and your player will shoot the ball.

It's a much more realistic shot system.

I got no beef with the new controls. I really haven't had any problem where I wanted to do a layup instead of a jumpshot or vice versa.

I love the new controls and I'm very happy they got rid of the two-button shooting system. Still have plenty of control. The new pick and roll is fine as well.
