Re: Does The Post Game Sucks or I Just Don't know How To Play Inside?
The post game in Live 10 is pretty bare bones, but is tuned really well, which more then makes up for it.
I really like how fouls are tuned within the post game as well. Nice comprehensive system.
Sometimes your defender will flop and it'll be called a defensive foul (normally if the flop occurs early in the post up ani), sometimes offensive (again happens more often when you've been backing for a few seconds or more) .
Sometimes a post spin will get called for an offensive foul (the move itself hooks the post defender in a way that makes the foul call believable).
I get tired basketball games in which a certain animation has only one result foul wise. The unpredictability of Live's foul calls, while still being believable, is a welcoming change.
I also like how dumping it down into the post is not a safe haven in Live. Being a 2k guy for the longest time, dumping it down into the post was exactly this when I couldn't get anything else going.
It's satisfying to dominate the paint in Live and I haven't been able to see that about a b-ball game in...well.......ever.Last edited by RipCity71252; 09-29-2009, 11:08 PM.Comment

Re: Does The Post Game Sucks or I Just Don't know How To Play Inside?
I agree with you Rip but I just wish it wasn't as bare bones as it is now. If you had more sig animations and moves in general I think it could be great.
One thing I do like about the post game is the presence it brings to your offense. If you have a good post game going everything else becomes so much easier.
It allows you to run your offense and not have to force things on the perimeter. I have a feeling teams like the Lakers are going to be tough to beat this year, because of their great inside outside game.
My problem is that when I dump it down low its annoying to see the same animations every time down. I want more variation it will make centers like Bynum stand out vs guys like KG.
As of right now it feels like there may be no difference between the two which just sucks in my opinion. I kind of feel like EA lost out on an opportunity by not adding animation variation.
Oh well its not a gamebreaker for me the post game is serviceable as is it could just use some NBA star flare. Maybe once I get the controls down I will be able to create some of the variation I want to see.Comment

Re: Does The Post Game Sucks or I Just Don't know How To Play Inside?
I get what your saying jt but what I'm looking for is that sig style. I want the post game to be more personalized like it is on the perimeter get what I'm saying.
I agree with you on that this game has all the moves you could want but I just want the sig style now. Yes the moves would be the same but more animations would just make it pop out more you know.
2K10's post game has got me interested just for the simple fact that there are so many animations you can see. In Live you have the moves but the style is pretty generic.
I actually want to post up in 2K for that reason alone Lol.
I think if Live featured more style I would be more interested. I'm not looking for moves that will make a player more powerful just ones that will differentiate him from other players.
This is not a knock against Live's post game but I just find it boring at times is all.Comment

Based on the demos, I'll take Live's generic post game over 2K's since it seems so much easier to score out of the post in 2K.
Using D12, I can easily make about 85% of my post shots in 2K, but in Live, I really have to work to stay at 50% shooting.
The post game is really a microcosm of what Live does better than 2K this year IMO:
it may not look as pretty, but it's a lot more balanced from a gameplay perspective.Comment

Yeah, I'll miss that Garnett turn around jumper. I'll be alright though, I agree with you one wrong move and D12 will lose the ball or Draw some contact that will make him miss the shot. I really use him for the fast break a lot though.Comment

My Os friends we have to remember live 10 is like the foundation of a house if it is done well with the comparison of how balanced the points are earned in the paint then the sig animations and post differences will be the icing on the cake. But the foundation has to be solid and people before you talk about a subject you have to make sure you know all your post moves first. lolComment
