Re: NBA Live 10 QA Final version
I have very high hopes for this game. As a long time 2K head, it was kind of refereshing to see that I couldn't just crossover and spin my way to the hole all day. Observing the computer shut down the baseline, deflect poor passes, and force me to play some real ball is a nice change of pace. Another one of my favorite bball games was Inside Drive 2004 (the one with Shaq looking like a hungry trout on the cover), Live reminds me a lot of that for some reason, but I just can't put a finger on what it is. Regardless, these videos and impressions are killing me right now.
A lot of my people that I've run with in 2k since the original Xbox are kind of bugging that I'm picking up Live this year. They're acting like I ran over their dog or something. Sometimes you gotta make a change, and playing the two demos made the decision for me. I may end up scooping up 2K at some point but Live is getting burn out of the gate because I'm feeling it more at this point. Still waiting on my Jersey hookup to come through like he usually does, but if anybody needs a few extra bucks to overnight this to me, holler at the kid. I'm hurting right now, the 6th seems too far away lol.Last edited by Pappy Knuckles; 10-01-2009, 06:28 AM.Comment

Re: NBA Live 10 QA Final version
Did they get rid of that player introduction screen at the beginning of games in the demo? I hated that screen, and from the look of Czar's videos, it's now just the heads while guys warm up.
Please tell me that's true, and if it's already been mentioned, I apologize.Comment

Re: NBA Live 10 QA Final version
Does holding the Right Stick up (hands up) challenge shots? I started doing this in the demo and alot of the shots that were going down when I was pressing block were missed when i held the stick up instead. I guess i'm wondering if its an auto contest or if I just didn't know how to play D.Comment

I can't talk about starting lineups without mentioning that again I hope that they add back in the complete starting lineup presentation instead of glossing over it.Comment

Re: NBA Live 10 QA Final version
Bummer. I really hope all sports games start including this option at some point. Based on the demo, I feel like I can get some good scores running 12 minute quarters. I don't know if I'll always have the time/patience for that though.Comment

Re: NBA Live 10 QA Final version
Can anybody with the game touch on fastbreaks by the AI?
I have not seen ANY 3 on 2, 2 on 1, 3 on 1 etc...type scenarios in any vids or during my time with the demo.
In the Knicks vid, the AI never pushed the ball after made or missed buckets to create fastbreak scenarios.
IMO It seems that either the transition D is getting back too fast or the CPU isn't pushing the ball up court hard enough..... OR both.
The D never seems to be back on it's heels in transition and the AI seems more than willing to concede and just set up the halfcourt offense ala Live09., instead of forcing the tempo.
Live is a great halfcourt playing game but, I'm hopeful that transition opportunities are plentiful this year. Especially, when playing the uptempo teams.Comment

Re: NBA Live 10 QA Final version
I've read all 34 pages. If I missed anything, I'm sorry. Got 2 questions to ask.
1) How are rotations working? In last years game, we were not able to adjust minutes or mix up rotations. For example, I would start KG and Perk, but I want Sheed to play both center and pf. BB would play significantly less minutes then Sheed.
Here is how I like to adjust it:
KG: 30min
Perk: 26min
Sheed: 26min
BBD: 14min
Can I do that without being forced to manual sub?
2) Czar I know you're playing 12 min quarter games. What about fatigue? Veterans like Shaq, KG, Duncan, PP, Ray Ray, Nash etc get tired easier compared to the young guns?Comment

Re: NBA Live 10 QA Final version
In this video, the Hawks push the ball up on each of their first two possessions; once after a score, and once after a rebound:

Re: NBA Live 10 QA Final version
Looks like it's missing this season also / or not often.
Teams do push for the early 3...but guards seem to always go to the wings / not the hoop on the FB.Last edited by Court_vision; 10-01-2009, 06:58 AM.Comment
