Re: Official Nba Live 11 Wish List

First of all, NBA LIVE 10 is very very impressive.. Best one since NBA LIVE 2000

The game looks amazing, personally i would say it looks so much better than NBA 2K10 just because the broadcast cam and court lighting are so realistic, almost like watching a real game.. EA please keep up the good work and make it look even better.

ONE thing needs to improve in my opinion:

The way the ball touches the rim still feels very very plasticy, just like the little plastic basketball hits the plastic rim sticked to the wall in my room, also the net movement is still very strange. Fix this and the game instantly feels much more realistic, now it kinda feels like some toy stories are playing the game..

Option to go back to the menu after a game instead of the hangar.

Or just go back to the main menu initially, then press 'back' to go to the hangar.

The hangar is a great but the loading time is a killer when all I want to do is play a rematch on a different difficulty.

Let me put this out there and I want to be certain that I preface this as a serious comment. I'm African American 1st of all...Now I got that out of the way.

Devs lets get in the Art and Graphics lab and reall work on light skinned African American players and most importantly Caucasian player skin tones and HAIR.

You guys have darker brothers down pat but fairer skinned players and white players need to be on the same graphical/visual level. Light Skinned Brothers and White dudes should not be looking like Albinos on the game...Lets work it out EA

Re: Official Nba Live 11 Wish List

              1. Improve player skin tones
              2. Improve Player "Court Awareness"...Players should not be standing out of bounds when they receive the ball
              3. Online Franchise and better League support
              4. More defensive options
              5. Practice Mode where we can run the plays
              6. Diagrams in game for all plays
              7. Improved ball physics and rim interaction
              8. Better more consistent Hustle on Hustle Plays

Have players come in and mo cap alley oop since yall have them mo cap their sig. shots.

I couldn't stress enough MORE ANIMATIONS but still let us have control like we do now.

For Live11 to steal the hearts of 2k fans and their past fans they must have the following:

-NBA Today rival- this is something that NBA Live must counter to create a better sim experience.
-Multi-team dynasty(similar to Madden10's franchise mode) complete with:
                  -d-league integration
                  -coach profiles/ratings
                  -10 day contracts,
                  -restricted FA
-full AS weekend(They have the licenses, they can execute this perfectly)
-in game updates during the season(similar to 2K's popups during games)
-Better presentation(read Sovartus' review for this.Great writeup!)
-Better faces/player models(Some of the players just don't look right and player models need to be smoothened out.)
-Lighting improvements(Lighting was a little too harsh in the game. Ruined skin colors as Dwade,Lebron, and Dwight all looked too light in the hangar. Kobe looked bald in game.Lighting should be toned down.
-Isomotion improvements(dribble moves should be a little slowed down. Kind of fast)

Re: Official Nba Live 11 Wish List

OK, after a ridiculous amount of games played, I thought I'd throw in my wishlist and I'm sure more things will come up as the season goes along. I want to stress that my wishlist is improving/adding MINOR things to the game to make it more realistic. I find these things to be much more reasonable to implement as opposed to some new, cutting-edge idea that is probably unrealistic to put into a game in 1 year. Without further ado...

                        - Rim/Player Awareness (What I mean by this is; too many times I see players shooting jumpshots from 5 ft instead of AI coming into play and knowing the location and adapting to a layup animation more realistically)

                        - Ability to pass while in air (I'm aware this can be done while a pick is called and the button is above a players head, but it's not possible to do while just shooting a jumpshot?

                        - Rim Sounds (they still sound hollow and have that trash can sound to them. I've personally lowered the FX volume and find it much more enjoyable)

                        - More user controlled on/off-ball defense animations (front the post, steal from behind animations, etc..

                        - Passing to a player in motion on half-court set/unable to spot up (I want the ability depending on WHO I'm passing the ball to have the tendency to either stop at the 3-point line or continue to the basket after a pass has been made. Dwight Howard wouldn't take a pass from the 3 point line and continue dribbling to the basket, he'd stop and pass to another player or back to PG to set up a play.

                        - Rebounding Lag/Awareness (I understand the rebounding has been dramatically improved over last years game, but there's still times where the button is lagging or the players just stand around and watch the ball)

                        - Fast break dribbling animation (I personally don't like it, just my opinion)

                        - Unrealistic vertical on rebounds (This doesn't happen all the time, but it looks very fake when it does occur

                        - Free throw shots by shot-release not by meter (You should be rewarded by mastering a players shot-release, not by some meter filling up. I want to keep my eyes on the players, not some meter at the top of the screen)

                        - Tip-off seems too basic (Just pressing triangle at the right time or before the other player is too simple. If anything a meter should be used here, and the tip goes to whoever presses the button the fastest

                        - Blocks (unrealistic block trajectory and animations. I'm aware many of the devs are aware of this, but it definitely needs improvement

                        - Ability to draw foul or contact from a defender while using pump-fake (It's so rewarding to do this, but shouldn't become an exploit. Players like Wade, Carter, James, Kobe do this all the time)

                        - Post moves (severely lacking any depth. The post game is almost non-existant because of this and I find myself utilizing the size-ups and crossovers because the post game seems so stale. Too predictable and easy to defend.

                        - ESPN integration similar to NCAA Basketball 10 (The overlays, the trademarks, etc... This simple thing would add much more realism to the game)

                        - PA Announcer change (The same guy has done this since the 90s right? It's time for a change...)

                        - Subs walking to scorers table (Another simple thing that adds a lot of realism.)

That's all for now... I hope these things are helpful to the devs and as I said earlier, I'm sure I'll have lots more to add to this. I'm almost done with my first version of a slider set to balance some of these issues out.

Re: Official Nba Live 11 Wish List

I repost in this thread since mine was closed, thanks for your attention developers:

The free throw mechanics in Live 10 sucks, there's no feel to it. You hold the button till the meter fills the area and if you hit the good spot, you already know you'll make the free throw, no emotion whatsoever. Besides, made free throws are nothing but net, while the missed ones are really bad misses, the rim/ball interaction doesn't feel realistic. I hope the developers hear me and change it next year. My suggestion is to remove the meter altogether, and bind the release of the button to a point in the motion of the player's arms, for example when the ball reaches his forehead. Since every player will have its own style of taking a free throw, the release point will vary from player to player, and you won't know beforehand if you make it or miss it.
                          Anyone has other suggestions?

Re: Official Nba Live 11 Wish List

How to make NBA Live 11 the best basketball game ever made!

                            * Sure up the Freestyle Controls - I know when the Freestyle Controls were first implemented, it was easier to do more dribble moves such as behind the back (start left on the right stick, move down and around in a semi circle fashion to go behind the back). It doesn't seem to be as intuitive as it used to be.

                            * Euro League Integration - It would be fantastic, and a great marketing bullet point in Europe to increase sales, if you could license a couple of the Euro Leagues within Live. It would be pretty awesome to play a full Dynasty or a simply Season Mode with a realistic Euro League with licensed teams and players. FIBA integration in Live 10 was the first step, now take it to the next level.

                            * Completely Overhauled Post Up Game - Give me the option to post anyone up at any time. Then, once I have them posted up, give me an arsenal of moves THAT MAKE SENSE. Right Handed Hooks, Left Handed Hooks, Drop Steps Left and Right, Fadeaways left and right, a fake move for all of these moves.

                            * A Fake Pass Button - This would be more fun for playing Online or against a friend. It would be awesome to simply have a button that will fake a pass while driving to the hole or standing at the 3 point line. I would replace the Alleyoop Button and use it as the fake pass button. I mean, alleyoops really only happen probably 2 times a game.

                            * Custom Arena Sounds and/or Custom Music - Allow us to upload our own music for arenas, starting lineups, and more. Allow us to record and upload our own Chants and Jeers. The other game is doing it (well, at least on 360). OR, you could simply include Custom Music via the XMB on PS3. Hey, it's an option right there in the Dev Kits now!!

                            * Complete Commentary Overhaul - The other game is continuing to simply tack on to its commentary, just as Live has been doing for several years now. If 2010 is the year for Live, then the commentary should be thrown out the window, ALL OF IT, and re record everything from scratch. Marv, Steve, and ESPECIALLY the arena announcer. I think he has been using the same name recordings for 5-6 years. Re-Record the exact same stuff with a new guy, at least it will sound different for a change. Sure it will take a lot of time, and a lot of $ for the Talking Heads to come in, but if you guys want to create the best basketball game on the market, SHOW IT!

                            * Higher Quality PS3 Textures - Ok, this is 2009. Is it really that hard to make something round, actually round? All of the players heads in Live 10 are more square than round because of some very low quality textures/geometry of some kind. The heads of players are not smooth, but almost squared off. You guys know what I am talking about.

                            * Bring Back ALL STAR Weekend - The Slam Dunk Contest was one of the coolest modes that NBA Live has added in the past 10 years. Why did you guys remove it? I realize the last couple of Slam Dunk Contests in Live have been pretty much the same with no innovation, but it is still fun. Add a few more dunks, a few more props, the ability to have teammates lob or assist in a dunk, and make all of this fully customizable. The 3 Point Shootout could be added in as well, maybe with the New Sony Motion Controller added in for the 3 Point Mode. It would be pretty cool to shoot jumpers in my Living Room.

                            * March Madness & NBA Live 11 Draft Class Integration - Uhmmm, Madden has done it for like 10 years, the NBA2k games did it. Why does Live continue to leave out importing draft classes from March Madness? What a great way to push sales for BOTH games.

                            * Edit Upcoming Draft Classes - Ok, so even if they do implement importing draft classes from March Madness, it would still be nice to be able to edit the Draft Class within Live (if you dont have March Madness). You get to check out the upcoming draft class, BEFORE YOUR SEASON EVER STARTS, and you can actually edit all their information, potential, school, name, attributes, etc.

                            * Online Co-Op - I would love to play the Adidas Live Run Matchups with me and 4 of my buddies at my house, all playing on my TV, against 5 other people spread out around the world. I didn't see this as part of Adidas Live Run this year, so add it next year.

                            * Scout upcoming rookies DURING the season - Why I cannot scout rookies DURING my Dynasty this year in Live10 makes no sense to me whatsoever. You get to OFFSEASON before you ever get any idea who will be up for the NBA Draft.

                            * Ability to play ahead in Dynamic Season Mode - Playing in real time, day to day with the NBA sounds fun, but I would like to play more than 1 game a day.

*NBDL & NBA Summer Leagues Integration - It is time to add some NBDL Integration. I should be able to farm out my 13th and 14th players on my bench to play in the NBDL. OR play around with my new draft picks during the NBA Summer League. The Summer Leagues would be a lot of fun playing games with all rookies and young NBA Players.

                            * Working Sliders - I know, I know they are being patched. I asked for this just before Live 10 Released in a Live 10 wish list, and I didnt get it. It is really annoying, every single year, to have all these sports games release with sliders that dont do jack. Play test the sliders, see if they work. Have some testers screw with them all for a week, that is all we have done to find all the errors that Live 10's sliders have. A week of release and just look at what the paying customers have found wrong with the sliders.

                            * Add some minigame/pick up and play type games. Horse, 21, Around the World, and more. All can be played on the same screen or with a friend.

                            * Add In Game Saves during our Season/Dynasty Modes - Allow us to save in the middle of a game during our Dynasties/Season Modes. Some people I know like to play 12 minute quarters, and that is about an hour to play a complete game. Allow them to save the game, at least at the end of each quarter if they want, so they can return and finish later. If you are worried about people using this to boost trophies or achievements (such as hit a game winning shot and someone saves and keeps trying it over and over) then post a warning screen in the game that saving will cancel all achievements or trophies for that game.

                            * Add the WNBA - Yeah, there may not be a WNBA Season Next year, but if there is, why not add a WNBA Season Mode? It could be fun for a bit. Just add some girl player models, a new jumpshot animation, remove dunks, and increase the movement without the ball and you have WNBA gameplay. Back in the late 1990's, March Madness had the top 20 or so Girls College Teams in it, BRING THE LADIES BACK. If you could add WNBA, Euro Leagues, and the NBDL to your game, then you could say it is the best assortment of basketball fun on the planet.

EDIT : I had not read 1 single post in this thread before posting this, however, it is interesting to see others post very similar suggestions (the announcer guy is getting boring, obviously lol).
