Re: Ask The Devs a Question Thread II
For example...we as a gaming community seemed to be so worried about shoes, the players tatts, etc....but we are not concerned that in league play there are NO conferences AND you can't play the NBA Schedule? But wait, you have the NBA schedule in Dynamic Season...but I can't play this in a league? Also, in doing a fantasy draft...only 10 players on your team? Come on now...
Come on now...does that even make sense? I as a consumer feel so abused when I get the brush off about something as big as this. This isnt something small like "Oh I am pissed off with Live because I can't see the Laker Girls in the Staples Center".
NO. This is a HUGE issue! And from what I see...it is straight up being ignored which is definitely making a lot of gamers upset.
I just want ALL concerns to be looked at and addressed especially HUGE ones like this.
So I am humbly asking that the devs not take such a non-chalant approach to this matter....because whether you believe it or not...you have a LOT of customers hanging on this issue....and what will you do when a "Patch" can't fix the scar that is left behind in gamers minds because of a lack of attention to this matter?Gamertag: Don Bellagachi

Re: Ask The Devs a Question Thread II
I hear you dude, but I am sorry a "At least" statement does not work for me here. I am not developer bashing (and sincerely hope it is not coming off that way). I just want the game to live up to everything it should be. EA sports always likes to say "Its in the game" but my new question is WHAT is in the game?

Re: Ask The Devs a Question Thread II
How can Garreth Reader not care about the league structure? Can he be so out of touch that he doesn't realize the importance of them? Do they wanna keep losing to 2K? Is it acceptable to run off the guys who have been patiently waiting for the game to improve? I NEED
answers. I DEMAND an answer because if I trade in my Live then I am never coming back. Never.Comment

Re: Ask The Devs a Question Thread II
It's Reeder. Anyway, of course I realize the importance. development is a balancing act of features and priorities. Online Leagues take up a very small % of games played (even in titles with robust online dynasties/franchises). The trick is keeping people happy with the feature while still building modes/functionality for everyone else. I'll be looking into leagues for 11 obviously.
This was the first time I bought live since Live 99 on PS1. I like the gameplay but due to lack of online leagues, and lack of the ability to control all 32 teams in an offline season/dynasty (like you can do in NBA 2k) im forced to go back to NBA 2k. This will be the last Live I ever purchase if the developers dont step up and add those two simple features that NBA 2k has had since the first NBA 2k back on the Dreamcast. I haven't even purchased NBA 2k10 yet but it might be time for me to do that.Comment

Re: Ask The Devs a Question Thread II
It makes no sense that NBA Live still doesn't have modern online leagues. 2k leagues from 2k4 are still better than the Live ones. How does Madden have great online franchises but Live can't put together a decent online league/season?

Can we be optimistic that at least tha in 11 you can have a 12 man roster?
I have know concept about what all goes into changing the number of players you can have on a team but I have to guess that would be on the easy side for you good folks?Gamertag and PSN Mrclutch1013

Re: Ask The Devs a Question Thread II
2K also is a very big seller.
LIVE isn't...and that means these guys don't have the same resources for stuff like that. So, it's not their fault.
I read somewhere the other day that LIVE 10 has sold around 100 000 copies...while FIFA 10 has sold close to two million.
That's a massive difference. In movie terms, LIVE is a small art house film...FIFA is a blockbuster. You can't expect the small art house film to get the same budget.
Obviously games like FIFA and MADDEN are going to get much more attention for online stuff and features...they also have a lot more staff working on them I am presuming.Comment

I read your response about online leagues taking up a small percentage of games. However, I propose this thought, that perhaps it only takes up a small percentage, because no one is playing in an online league thats not functional.
For example....one of 2K sports fans BIGGEST GRIPE is that their online leagues are not functioning. If online league play was only a small %, then this wouldn't be an issue for 2K that apparently stinks to high heaven.
I think at the very minimum for online leagues, we need the following:
a.) The ability to play the regular 82 game NBA schedule
b.) Conferences and divisions so that everyone is just not lumped together.
c.) Give Admins of the league more control over league structure such as the ability to reset games that were dropped, the ability to replace inactive owners (and not have rosters reset), and the ability to forward the schedule and sim games where needed.
If you could find a way to get these three basic elements in the league structure, I am sure you will have a LOT of happy customers!Gamertag: Don Bellagachi

Re: Ask The Devs a Question Thread II
After the rookies get to go shopping for some new shoes, how about Nash has long hair again, Jared Dudley doesn't have dreads anymore, and Goran Dragic (Nash's backup) has brown hair, just like his photo in the game (not bleached blond).
Would it be in the realm of possibility to have alley-oops patched? Unless the player is directly under the rim, Steve Nash throws the ball out of bounds.
I think what should happen is this: You pressing the Y-button is the equivilent of Nash signaling to Amare that he's going to toss him an alley-oop. Then Amare will gather himself/go to the hoop, and only then will Nash throw the oop.
As it stands now, pressing Y means an instant pass, and unless they're directly under the rim, it's either out of bounds or a super slow motion missed layup. As you know from watching the NBA, the player receiving the alley oop is well outside of being directly under the rim when the play initiates (when he's running/timing his jump).Last edited by bakesalee; 11-11-2009, 07:11 PM.Comment
