For me contesting jumpers even when you don't even have a chance at blocking the shot. Playing solid on the ball D. I think those 2 things along with sliders from Cabrillo24 & L4D on Pro to my suprise and the anticipation of seeing if the DNA really is the real deal is what's keeping me from dumping this game. Hope that helps. Peace!!!

Weird. I hardly see the CPU fastbreak at all on higher levels.

      Nice work L4D
I'm telling you..the difference is real. It's amazing how that one little aspect opens up the whole game.

why are guys so quick to dump any game. I mean it's only been a couple weeks. Live is the truth. the engine is robust and deep in gameplay elements. I got 2k early and still haven't played it more than 10 games because I hate the control. But Im not gonna get rid of it, until at least the patches, sliders, and more importantly I don't have the pressure of constantly comparing it to live. As much as I hate to say it, it seems many of the people who are the most vocal, don't know how to play.

Spend more time playing, less time posting.

Blowing by you defender: I seriously havent seen this in the game...Ive heard some say they can do it, but I havent experienced this...are there certain quick dribbling move im missing?

Finishing at the rim: The mid air collision animation....good lord man, its driving me nuts...am I not pressing the right things to finish? if I go past a defender and the Center is guarding me left...I press right and X to finish that way at the rim right? is that logic wrong? more often than not, no matter what angle I have im being sucked into a collision...ill euro step, and get stoped dead in the middle of it to restart another animation. I wouldnt even have a problem with it most of the time, if they made the shot more often, or even called fouls when I have the proper angle....whats even more frustating is he CPU seems to be able to draw fouls from it, and even amimate through my D at will.

I use OBC, run plays, picks....and shoot mid range J's.....and thats fine....but I want to experience the atheletic side of the game as well...im just not feeling its there right now....

If you guys have input, thatd be great.....
I felt the exact same way when i first got the game since this is the first NBA Live i've bought since 2004. What i've noticed is that unlike 2k,athletic dunks and plays happen alot less in comparison to 2k. To actually be successful at it you also have to take off earlier allowing your player to at least take two steps to the rack before taking off. In 2k you would have to be very close to the basket to be able to do anything associated with athleticism, regardless of any defenders, or have to deal with a ridiculous jumpshot. Its really just a matter of adaptation. Give it time and you'll get used to it.

            Great tips in this thread.

It's weird though as Beluba and Marcus specifically said pre launch that PRO was for "arcade players", "All star for SIM players"...

Yet pro seems to be much better?

I guess they were talking out of the box...whereas we are talking about LD4's sliders making pro very good.
I think they meant in terms of DIFFICULTY.

In Terms of REALISM and think Pro takes ratings and DNA more into acount than the other two levels because there's not much hidden boost on that level.

But as for the OP's question.

I think i've been very honest about NBA Live 10 since release. I haven't sugar coated any of the flaws that I've seen in this game and even to this date those flaws still kinda rub me the wrong way.

But having said that after spending all of this week just doing what I've always done with NBA Live on Next Gen I think this game has another level in it by way of editing.

You know how you fine tune a car by working under the hood. Well Live 10 has things under the hood that IMO will make this game ELITE after the patch and 1st roster update. I've think most people have started to see just how much a difference sliders can make in this game.

There's 4 stages of game play in Live

Default Gameplay right out the box =
            Gameplay with tweaked sliders =
            Gameplay with added patch =
Game Play with additional hands on INDIVIDUAL PLAYER editing to compliment the above 3 stages listed =
